Not long off the phone with the boy. He is in Hobart today, so this trip has seen him visit the two farthest places from home, Hawaii and Tasmania.

I'm currently limping like a good'un after coming off my cycle. It all happened when I was cycling back home after a futile visit to what is laughably called the Jobcentre. I think my front wheel hit a raised drain cover, because the next thing I know my front wheel has kicked to one side, caught the high kerb and I'm pitched off the bike with the bike following me. I landed badly on my right knee and gashed it open like a ripe melon. The nurse who treated me had a proper old-school, no-nonsense approach to patching me up, she didn't bother with anesthetic when putting 3 stitches in my knee as she said that by the time she stuck the needle in me and the numbing agent had taken effect she would have finished stitching me up. She was also pleased that I had come in with a 'proper' injury rather than "the usual coughs, colds and rubbish you could put a plaster on at home" (her exact words).
Isn't life a bowl of cherries??

You and vehicles seem to have a tough time of it; I still recall the power company van accident that you survived!

No, the bike is still in full working condition. You can't tell the new scratches and dents from the old ones, so no-one could ever tell I threw it up the road...

Yeah, finally going to be able to start my Class C driving course soon, so things may well be looking up!

Yesterday Moira and I visited an ancient church atop a wind-blasted hill near West Keal; the wind was so strong up there you could barely stand...

... and, by the doorway, this old carving of STEED

The drugs, called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), reduce stomach acid and are available over-the-counter and by prescription. Other recent studies have linked PPIs to a range of potential health risks including kidney disease, stomach infections, heart disease, pneumonia, bone fractures, and dementia. Popular brand-name PPI medications include Prilosec, Nexium, Prevacid and others sold over-the-counter or by prescription.
Yipes! my wife takes those....especially after today's big 'hogdown' which she is currently preparing....I do the cleanup afterward. Todays Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day home game is against the superb Minnesota Vikings this AM. All bets are off though when it's Detroit on their home turf on thanksgiving. They've pulled off upsets in the past.
