Had the dash cam in the car for a week now and what a revelation it is, reminds me of those crazy drivers programmes on tv.

Far easier to catch them now seeing as there is no blues and twos fitted.

That's good news Jim ... have a Merry Christmas with your son. The days go by so fast love him and hug him.

How did those new iphones work out? What number were they 8 or 10's?

Thank you sir, I most certainly will.

The iPhones are 6's (upgraded from 5S)....I usually wait on seeing what the kids phones are like and wait for the end of the wife and my current contracts thereby getting the upgrade for free.

Both the kids have an 8 so I'll end up upgrading to 8 in 18 months time.

I've never been much of a one wanting the latest and greatest technology, (if it works, leave it be), I leave that 'risk' to the kids and witnessing the number of phone replacements the boy has experienced I doubt I could cope with the hassle at my age.

Precisely! I've been with Verizon since the mid eighties (before it was even called Verizon)
< Actually my second phone, after my first 1983 handset gel-batt 'bag phone' which I've still got; this old reliable work-flipphone takes most of the photos in my gallery; and, if sent to my wife or daughter's smart phones, can be updated to my computer-thence to photo-bucket. On remote movie-set locations, where I'm security, mtn-areas or out on the boat, my phone still operates when the modern stuff doesn't!!! and the speaker phones (set in the hinge) are superb!!! I don't need the hearing aids. Recently I just got 2 new batteries "made in China' instead of the original "made in Korea" (Probably from N. Korea and relabeled to circumvent Trump's trade embargoes!!) The 'kids' staffing the Verizon store, aghast at my Neanderthal technology, are always trying to get me to upgrade but this 'ain't broke' and I don't waste time learning new technology at 66.... which saves on Aricept!

Planning a trip to Sleaford soon to see about hanging some work in a gallery. Whenever I go to that town I'm always reminded of the big guy with an eye-patch stepping forth at the archery contest in the 1938 Robin Hood movie, and announced as "Matt of Sleaford!" Another place near here, Fosdyke, is mentioned in yet another Robin Hood film... the one with Richard Greene I think.

(This character is referred to as "Matt of Slefern" elsewhere, but I always hear "Sleaford" with an American drawl in the movie, so it's easy to imagine how that's come about. However, a lot of the legends are tied in with this area of Lincolnshire, so I'm sticking with Matt of Sleaford.)

The family will be celebrating the wifes birthday tomorrow so the boy has just taken her to the Metro Centre to choose her present.

The daughter sorted my present for her last week.

As played by Wisconsin-born Ray Spiker who also played a homesteader in Shane.

After playing Matt of Sleaford (there's no such place as Slefern) he was a support actor in one heck of a lot of movies including many well-known Westerns, yet I'd never heard of him before... even though Westerns has always been a favourite subject of mine. Indeed this is one of my chief browsing books:

https://biblio.co.uk/book/bfi-compan...UaAkYEEALw_wcB

The book does feature bios for support actors who were frequently seen in Westerns as well as the stars, so I don't know why he's not in it.
