Default Mods not working

Hi all,
I hope someone may be able to help me, I have this afternoon downloaded the JSGME then downloaded 3mods, WEBSTERS _gfo_mod_v1.1....also 3000yard bearing meter and Pacific sound mod.
I have opened all and put into sh4 and they are all listed.
I have opened JSGME from my desk top, but it does not say that there are any available mods even though I downloaded them, so I'm not quite sure how to proceed.
Many thanks in advance
Phil

First of all, you don't want your Silent Hunter game installed in the "Program Files" directory, because it will not allow a mod to "keep". Second of all, it's easier if you move JSGME into the game folder itself. "Navigate" your way into the install folder you have for JSGME, and copy it and the "JoneSoft.txt" files, and then paste them into the game folder with the SH4.exe file. When you run the file from there, it will create another ini file for itself. You could either make yourself a shortcut on the desktop for this copy of the app, or use the Run dialog, or just open it by double-clicking on it in Windows Explorer. If you go the shortcut route, I'd name it a little different from the other one. There is a User's Manual for JSGME somewhere, but I can't find it right now. My brain hurts for some FotRSU reason (inside joke) - wow, the computer already came back and found what I couldn't... it's "JSGMEv2_6.pdf" - Here you go for the "Central Installation" method:

Installation
JSGME can be installed one of two ways:

1. Central installation
You can install JSGME to a central location and point it to each of your games through creating
shortcuts. To do this:
1. install JSGME to a central location (for example, "C:\Games\Generic Mod Enabler"). Keep the
Create a desktop icon option selected in the installer
2. once installed, DO NOT RUN! Copy and paste the newly created JSGME desktop shortcut as
many times as you have games and change the Start in folder of each shortcut to point to each
game's base folder. To change the Start in folder, right-click the shortcut, select Properties and
then the Shortcut tab. See Figure 1
3. rename each shortcut to something meaningful, such as JSGME-GameName1", "JSGME-
GameName2", "JSGME-GameName3" and so on. To rename a shortcut, simply right-click the
shortcut and select Rename

Figure one is not copied to here. The formatting from copying a pdf is terrible, and then the pasting into here finishes it off... Anyway, let us know how you get along...

Another common problem is the dreaded "double directory." Sometimes the files will unzip into something like "c:/sh4/mods/tmo/tmo/data." You want the file structure to look something like "c:/sh4/mods/tmo/data." Your directory won't look exactly like this, I just did it this way as an example.
