In the making. :p

Or

Late.

"San Francisco – May 15, 2006 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announces Storm of War™: Battle of Britain, to come in November 2006 for PCs worldwide."

------------------

Gamespot.com has the release date set to Oct 1. 2007. Also, GoGamers.com now says Oct 1. 2007, month or so ago it was Dec 2007. IGN.com says US: October 1, 2007 Europe: August 2007

But then again, I see talk about Dec 2007 or later in the forums...

My guess is that we will hear something on 15th September, i.e. in 6 day's time, the 15th being Battle of Britain Day.

Let's hope. For some reason or another, flight sim devs. are not very good at giving updates....

Pretty much, from what I know of their updates on their IL-2 games development. Can't remember much from that time, only: woopsie, it's released! Right in time for Christmas. Wonder if that'll happen again.....

Gamespot says its coming out on October first, but then again there are a lot of conflicting release dates that I've heard of.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.....

It seems that the Oct 1. have been given to the public some time ago and now there's rumours that the date wont hold. Maddog & his crew arent giving too much info out.

would seem that one would want a little more pre-issue publicity than that....

Nope, not really. They are keeping the lit shut for some weird reason.

This is not going to come out for quite a while, if you ask me.

Just FYI, as a lot of people seem to not be aware of, there is a very good, mature sim about the Battle of Britain, and no matter how good SoW is going to become, it's hard to imagine that it will surpass BoB2 in every aspect, especially the strategic level / AI.

Recently I wrote a thread about exactly this game:

And here are some links if you are interested;

Bob II is great, BUT the sometimes jerky flightmodel of the AI and lack of pilot career ruins the experience for me (yes, I know one can only fly one squadron etc. etc. but it's not the same thing). Besides, Storm of War is going to be like IL2, loads of expansions. Hundreds of flyable planes.

Both games have their strengths and weaknesses. I for myself could never enjoy IL-2 for the cartoonishness of the graphics, and BoBII is everything I ever wanted in that respect. AI and campaign are two other important areas for me, where BoB2 plays in a different league, compared to IL-2. Just a few days ago I compared the two games side by side, and the longer I played IL2, the more problems came to light, whereas with BoB2 I tend to discover more and more nice surprises.

My criticism of IL-2 is of course highly subjective, all I am saying is that while people are desperately waiting for SoW, the "other" game might be worth a second look, and the waiting might become much easier you know. After many years in development it's in a supreme state, whereas SoW is not even out yet.

I hope they improve the campaign, interface and sounds in SoW: BoB. IL2 was really lacking in those.
