Default FSX Mods?

After rebuilding my machine, I'm now reinstalling FSX (and FF5, Finally!)

What mods or whatnot should I be looking at for FSX? Free is better too.

Another question too. I have the saitek throttle quadrant.

I use the first lever for flaps. And then lever 2 for engine 1, and lever 3 for engine 2.

Which is fine for 1 or 2 engined planes. Does anybody know of a way to slave engines 1 & 2 to lever 2, and 3 & 4 to lever 3? for flying the big 4 engine planes?

I'm not sure about FSX, but I remember from FS9 that there were separate throttle axes, and then there was just a throttle axis, which was basically both/all engines together. Try and see what you can actually assign the axes to?

As far as mods, there's this whole world of freeware vs. payware. I'm better-versed in the latter, and there are a lot of extremely useful add-ons in that category (that you can't get for free), but they do add up... so a lot of it depends on how much you're willing to spend! If you're only interested in freeware, there's still lots of cool stuff you can get though.

It's always worth giving Avsim's library a look - lots of goodies there, especially if you want to beef up your freeware aircraft collection!

Cool thanks, I'll check out AVsim. My current budget is... oh.. nothing as I'm between jobs atm.

And does anybody know how to make FSX run in a windowed mode? I sued to run it that way, and now I can't find the option.

It should be under "view", but I believe the key shortcut is Alt+Enter.
