Has anyone achieved this yet? (200,000 tonnes in a single patrol)

I'm planning to go for one after my next torpedo replenishment. I have a sound strategy and it should be relatively simple the achieve. Please go ahead and express your own strategies here to achieve a medal of honor.

I'm planning to encounter at least a few Poltavas along the way.

Well %&@&!! I decided to sink one more convoy before returning to port to rearm to proceed with my plan to achieve a medal of honor. I didn't know at the time that the sinking of this final convoy would break the threshold for the medal of honor. I skipped through the award screen as if it were another news report. Worst part is I saved right after.

I had to look at the game files to see what the congratulations letter would say, and I spotted a typo.

Here's a picture of my current status. I'll have to earn another one of these to show you the letter (and typo).

For me:
Yes, as my first medal in the mod 2004 Campaign. I think they need to re-adjust that

And no in the vanilla campaign.

Yeah, I should probably state that I'm playing vanilla, 1984 campaign, elite difficulty.

I'll have to try this in the 1968 campaign. That's going to be a challenge.

So the plan was to:
Fail an amphibious invasion mission. This starts the convoys.
Since the convoys have a 0.55 probability of spawning in the 1984 campaign (as opposed to ASW patrols) they are pretty frequent.
Lie in wait in the convoy route. Sink merchants.

Also, you may notice I have not completed any missions in my run. I'm testing out being able to beat the campaign without having to do missions (except final one, probably). The game files say sinking these convoys grant 30 campaign points, equal to a regular mission.

Darn, can't earn 2 MOH's in one campaign. So do I go for campaign win or tonnage record?

One of each medal is the most you can get.
