Your mega mod is a nice alternative to TWOS who want something a bit different to play.

TWOS is so easy to set up and now so will yours.

Hi sober
I am testing the game using the new installation.
When the game loads I do not have the compass bar, battery, CO2, or compressed air meters.

Picture > This all i see?

Compass, message box, and officer icons are all there.
Are you having the same problem with the new installation?
I cannot see why I am having this problem as I have not changed anything in the mods.

Picture > TWOS what I would expect to see!
 


I notice that this mod:
sobers mega mod TDWUserOptions_No Tonnage +Menu SH5 V34
overwrites this one:
NewUIs_TDC_7_5_0_Real_Navigation
Is that ok, as my understanding is this mod should not be overwritten?

One problem I found following your instructions was this:

There is no ‘Back’ to click on unless no changes are made.
Once you make any changes the only option is ‘Exit.’
To save any game changes you have to make a manual save and then load that save so the changes are kept.
Without the game save any changes are discarded.

This is how I see it.
1 Start a New Campaign.
2 On the screen selection type “silentotto”
3 Click on a campaign that you want to play and click on start to enter the bunker.
4 While in the bunker press the keyboard Esc key and go back to the main menu.
5 Click on continue campaign.
6 When in the bunker again press the keyboard Esc key and go back to the main menu
7 Select options and make your game play setting changes and apply them
8 Press exit.
9 Go to save game and enter a manual save as this needs to be done otherwise you will lose your game play setting changes.
10 Go back to the main menu.
11 Click on continue campaign.

I know I have all the right mods but I am going to check each one individually to make sure when I removed all the document folders something happened that should not have.

Hi Peter .
Its a lot diffrent than you are used to . There is nothing wrong with it , thats just how i want to play it . I wanted a cleaner hud as well .
Most things are done by asking the crew .
The game now starts with the VIIB . That is because the battery gauges dont work in the VIIA . You will find the gauges that you need to look at in the sub .
I wanted to have less hud and more actually looking at the gauges . You still get ocassional updates for fuel etc in the message panel .
The battery gauges are in the rear battery room , CO2 is in the command room to the left of the helmsmen , compressed air is in the command room as well . Fuel is in the engine room .
Click on C key and this brings up the compass . Click on the compass to change direction . You can move the compass around . I usually have it to the left of the message box .
You can click on Ctrl key to bring up the depth meter and adjust depth anytime . If going to decks awash then you have to submerge next . Do not surface after going decks awash or go in reverse while in decks awash .
1 Start a New Campaign.

I adjusted the instructions , thanks for pointing that out .

The main idea of the mega mod is to upgrade the crew as much as possible and stay alive until the end of the campaign . You get skill upgrade points for sinking ships . Scapa is good for getting points . Why i dont want linked campaigns is because i think it is more realistic to start with a fresh crew everytime and try to get skill points to upgrade them . That is the premise of the mega mod .
Also there is no campaign fixes needed and no uplay needed (TDW_GenericPatcher_v_1_0_168_0 UPlay disabled) .

Also its best to work out which is the best diving method . Do i click on the watchofficer and request flank speed , then run down the hatch while clicking on the dive button . Then go to the navigator and ask for a depth report . Then hit Ctrl key and click on a submerge level . Or do i just run down the hatch and go straight to the engineer and request flank speed then . Or do i ask for depth reading first . Its best to practise while heading to the Baltic objectives .

The level of visibility plays a big part in this mega mod . Please keep the gamma setting at the default halfway level . If its too dark then you should decide if you should wait for better light conditions . Press Shift+B key to bring up the moon phases . Helps when attacking Scapa . Let me know how you go with Scapa .

Phew that is good news I have been working away thinking there was a major fault.

Based on your posts everything is working ok.
i am so relieved.

That is a very interesting game format that you have come up with and I suspect a lot of the time you are going to be kept quite busy.
I suspect TC rates are going to be quite low with no zooming along, lol.

Neal has requested a Download link so I will get everything sorted as soon as possible.

Incidentally this is the problem you get when you accept the default medium game setting in new campaign and you try to change to realistic to 100% in game play settings.
As you can see without making the game save it does not work as there should be no contacts on the map.

 


I will add your new mod as requested.

I will advise to use realistic on the campaign screen .

Dont TC with travel mode on otherwise the game will not drop down to 1TC when close to land . Sometimes you might have to for a little while if in shallow waters and the Tc keeps dropping down to 1TC ,
Try to TC with the left button highlighted . This is the message box drops down to 1TC on any message box message . Helpful when learning the mod . The game will drop down to 1TC but you would already know that

Sobers Subsim Bonus All In One Mega Mod 1421 20072017 is avaible to those who make a contribution to Subsim.

The Mega Mod has been totally updated and is now an All In One Download.
This means everything you need to install and get your game up and running is now included with Full Documentation and Instructions at each step written by THEBERBSTER.

With this version for the first time you can now also play with Engish or German Language or a combination of both.

All sobers posts 1-2-3-4-5-6 have been updated.

Hi everyone,

I am interested in your vision, Sober. This is what I've been missing from the game - a more realistic contact with your environment, the submarine.

Still, my computer is old, somewhat crappy and this is a big compilation of mods. I understand it will have some impact just by the weight of it, but did you include "fancy graphics" in your pack (waves, environments, view distance, etc). I'm running on low, quite good, but I wouldn't want anything higher than that. I can see the gauges have been updated which is good, but what about the rest?

answered my question myself with further reading and the thread searching tool I got when I subscribed, I see that there are many graphic enhancements, and it also may have an impact by several more factors than that. But surely I can choose what I take in JSGME, just have to be careful. thanks anyway!
