Oki thanks. If it is in the Mod WoS I should have it activated already... I don’t really understand. I have the latest version of the MegaMod WoS and I don’t have those new binoculars.

Where can I activate this feature? Should I install this mod on top of the WoS?
Thanks for the clarification!

Hi Rosco
The before and after only relates to the changes showing in the YouTube video.
In reality the after is actually the before.
The single binocular lens is the only option now in the current TWOS download.
The mod I showed you by Torpedo is the two lens binocular with bearings which can be used as an add on mod and enabled in JSGME behind the TWOS main mods and is totally compatible.

Hi all!!!

I made a version of two lens binoculars without bearings. If this small mod can interest someone, I can make it available.

Hey, thanks a lot gentlemen, I got it now.
The one with the bearings is fine for me, even if it's probably a little less realistic.
Very good job Torpedo, and like always a big hug to THEBERBSTER who is always so fast for repliying.

Let's try that now :-)

Now it works fine. Thanks for the fast fix!

Did you make any changes with the zoom factor here, or is the zoom level the same as in the TWoS mod /stock game!?

I have to study the zoom factor in UZO and in binoculars. In TWOS update 2.10 the UZO has value 7x and in the binoculars the zoom factor is bigger, for example at least 8x. I do not know the historical values but I will inform ASAP.

Default values in zoom levels of the optics in u-boot

Hi All!!!

The values in zoom levels of the optics are the following:

------------ BIN ---- UZO --- OBS --- PERI-----------
__________________________________________
1.2 vanilla -7x------7x------ 1x-4x -- 1x-4x
__________________________________________
TWoS 2.0 --8x------ 7x----- 1.5x-6x -1.5x-6x
__________________________________________
TWoS 2.1 --8x------ 7x----- 1.5x-6x- 1.5-6x
__________________________________________
res. 5x4 ---8x------ 7x------ 1.5x-6x- 1.5-6x
__________________________________________

These values were taken in the file cameras.cam from the different versions of TWoS and from version 1.2 vanilla with the Silent 3ditor v0.9.9 program.
In my "TWOS Binoculars with bearing by Torpedo v1" I've changed from 8x to 7x the zoom level of the binoculars because 8x seemed too big compared to that of the UZO, but it is only my personal opinion. In my "TWOS Binoculars without bearing by Torpedo v3" mod I did not change the zoom level of the binoculars which is 8x, the same that is in TWoS 2.1.0.
That's why excel4004 noticed a difference in the zoom factor of my two versions.
Tell me which zoom factor is the most common for the binoculars: 7x or 8x.
In reality I read that the Kriegsmarine had binoculars of different magnifications: 6x30, 8x30, 7x50 and others.
Please help me!

Tnx Torpedo

P.S. Sorry for the alignment of the table and the wrong value for binoculars in TWoS 2.0.0 which is 8x and not 7x and the OBS and the PERI which both have 1.5x-6x zoom

Hey Torp!

Are you sure about this?As far As I can remember, binoculars in TWoS always had 8x zoom factor.

I'll check older TWoS versions just to make sure although this is not really important for anything since binoculars aren't used for distance calculations anyway...

Hi Vecko!

I checked in TWoS 2.0.0 and I have to apologize to you. The factor zoom of the binoculars is already 8x. Erroneously I took the data from the backup of the mods and I confused the extensions, for example "cameras.cam.The Wolves of Steel 2.0.0" which had the wrong value was actually the backup of cameras.cam of the version vanilla 1.2.0.
I Remedy immediately and change the wrong values in the table.
At this point I ask you what is the best solution for binoculars. In fact, many binoculars were 8x30 but the 8x zoom level visually looks in my opinion a lot bigger than the UZO 7x. It can only be a visual perception of mine and perhaps it is right that the binoculars have 8x as a zoom level. But I completely respect your binocular setting.
Excuse me again for my stupid mistake, but with my age advancing ...

Best regards
Torpedo
