Question: Silent Hunter III weak port defences?

I'm on 3rd mission in Silent Hunter III, I entered one of the British ports.

On the way there there was just 1 armed travler, and one type J destroyet.
And on the place there are 2 or 3 cargos sitting, and one unarmed travler going around.

I can surface right in the port and no one does anything to attack me.

Is this how it should be?
Quinte unrealistic :/ Maybe some mod fixes it?

What would happened in real life in such a case where surfaced sub reaches your port, I would imagine the port is filled with various gun batteries, no?
I guess they would call in planes too. Maybe even tanks or other armored vehicles would fire at me, and I would be dead in minutes.

It is vanilla SH3 ?

because I use GWX mod and ports have always some defences: anti-submarine nets, minefields, batteries, searchlights, DDs, armed trawlers and motor boats and sometime they even call for bombers or nearby ships - even French armed ships can attack the uboat when raiding the British port in the Channel.

Depending on he port. It is not unrealistic. In operation drumbeat you can go right up to the US coast and no reaction. The problem is shallow waters.

Some ports are just not that protected.

Go to Liverpool and try what you did!
