12th July 1940

We received another patrol order and we went out. Due my recent crashlanding I received a new Hurri so was eager to test her out
I fired up the lovely merlin and gave it a full forward....and quikly after doing that I noticed I have forgot something very important...and the groundcrew made it very clear ''YOU FORGOT THE BLOODY PARKING BRAKES YOU TWAT!''
I felt very ashamed and hid myself somewhere out of the reach of the angry groundcrew replacing the prop blades.

So my Hurricane was fixed and the groundcrew made it very clear if I ever pull such stunt again...I will regret it.
A couple of hours later our squadron had another patrol flight, this one was the usual..take off, be on the look out and get your arse back in time to go to the pub.

14 Jerries wheren't so lucky today.

13th July 1940

First Blood

The order to intercept came, finally another chance for me to fight off the Jerry.
We took off in full glory wishing eachother well, off to the coast!
When we reached the channel we saw them, the stuka's attacking our ships so we dove on them and made them pay dearly for attempting to sink our ships.
I managed to isolate one Stuka for my own and gave the bastard jerry a good haze of maching gun fire fired by my .303's and there he went spiraling down and the bastard didn't even bother to bail out.
Thrilled by the succes I was looking for another one, found one but my mates where already having fun with him..and he went down to the channel as well.
It was time to head back to base, and promised with my lads to drown ourselfs in the pub tonight.

Thank you kind sir,

it was a great show and I believe some of the boys of the sector your from took part in this interception, dont know sure if your squadron was send up as well but I think that would be to harsh for the Jerry to bear isn't it
but no matter where they are from its always pleasant to see more of our boys together striking back at the jerry.

Cheerio!

Telegram to James Smith of the 151 squadron

Sorry to hear about there bit of frustration there chap, seems you and the boys seem to be in the air at the wrong time. Hopefully that fat sauerkraut Göring will send more if its luftyboys to our channel so we can let them swim back to their beloved Reich. Seems my last landing was rough even for my standards...poor Hurri, and my squadron lads are now laughing about the fact if I keep this up the fitters have more spare parts that actual Hurricanes.

Better be on the watch out, seems the Luftwaffe has increased their size of escorts by 2 per bomber now. I hope those Spitfire pilots will do their jobs to keep the Escort fighters busy while we go in for those blasted stuka's. News reporst about them poor buggers on the merchants wash ashore dead, in shock or burned and other injuries just makes my blood boil.
Something tells me the worst to Britain has yet to come from the Jerry, I just hope I can be around to give word to the jerry the meaning of that we shall never surrender!

Cheerio,
Josephus, William
32 squadron

We got our chance old bean, and I think it might have gone wrong. Got my kite banged up but kept her together, hopefully that'll count for something. Haven't seen much of Jerrys escorts yet, but their tailgunners are messy if you don't watch out.
Still, as Winnie says, the time ahead is long, and we're not through yet!
Onward to victory!

Yours
Smith, James

(Just after shutting BOBII down to write this a Spit Mk IX did a loop over the house, how's about that? )
