Seems like Oleg finally understood where the money's at, i.e. in arcade games

Not impressed, its just turned a nice game into a Arcadish aircraft shooter...

its developed by a 3th party Company (not 1Cgames ''oleg'')

Guys, chill.

Oleg just licensed the IL-2 engine to someone who ported the game to consoles, and hopefully got a crapload of dough in return. Hardly the end of the world, huh?

The screenshots there don't look like IL-2 but rather like SoW to me :hmm:

Otherwise, what's so bad about a sim-lite? Didn't a lot of us have a somewhat arcade introduction to sims as well? I sure as hell did - it could be a good "gateway drug" for people And while I'm not being overly optimistic here, a lot of very good games came out of not-so-hardcore efforts in this area.

I'll probably get it for the 360 (wont be touching ps3) not on speaking terms with sony .. just for the grandson so he's not trying to hog my pc wanting to play Il2.

If the money will make Oleg's slow ass move any faster on Storm of War, then I'll even buy the damn thing... then sell it.

It looks good but something that I wouldn't buy. Why is it that suddenly there a version of IL-2 where the player can fly on both fronts when if we want to we have to use a third party campagin and the Dgen program?

The game is running on a modified IL2 engine with some extra highlights and new smoketrails..the rest is the same ol' IL2 stuff you see.

I dont mind a sim-lite, but I cant stand the controls(gamepads) on a Console platform.

Well, that's upto 1C. They can include Keyboard, Mouse & Joystick support, well, for the PS3 anyway. I doubt they will but it's upto them.

Truth be told, the game will be dev'd on a 360 then ported (craply) to the other formats.

Damn, maybe I should've held off from buying the Logitech G25 for my PS3, and put the cash into a good stick.

Oh, that's a close one.

IL2 or GT5 :hmm: Both!

I'll put money on Birds of Prey not having Keyboard/Joystick support, I just can't see the studio spending the money & time to do it.

It's just a pity that Polyphony took out "true" G25 support for GT5. I guess it was to make way for the new Driving Force GT wheel.
