Default Help!

Hi Guys,

Sorry for what maybe a very stupid question for some of you old sea dogs but I'm having a problem even installing JSGME. I'm running windows 7 and I've saved the file into my documents and when I click open it, it says 'Windows Can't Open File'. Any Advice?

Thanks!

Did you run it as administrator? If not right click it and choose "run as"

G'day Commander Who (?)!

The 'file' cannot be opened because it is in a 'zipped' (compressed) folder. You must 'unzip' it before you can open it. To do this you need a progam to do that for you. You may have such a program on your machine already, what you need to do is right-click on the JSGME folder you downloaded and see if there is an option to 'unzip'. If not you can get such a program called 7-Zip from subsim for free here:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1362

choose save or run (doesn't make much dif).

Once you have 7-zip installed right click on your JSGME folder and select '7-zip' from the menu and then 'Extract here'. You should then see the JSGME setup app apear. Run that and you're good to go. Neal Stevens made a handy PDF guide to seting it up here:

See how you go with that lot and give us a shout.
