I am not sure then. I don't ever use the pre plotted courses for the canal. I just plot them myself. I just assumed that's what those dots were for.

Yeah, unfortunately the plotting for the Kiel Canal is broken. Dont know why.

I do not find the instruction on autopilotting Kiel canal for sh3.

I've been playing GWX for years, and honestly love it. However, it has one serious flaw for me: I cannot save a game and reload it; it constantly CTD if I try and load a saved game. Considering I usually play a max TC of 128, a single patrol can sometimes take me several real-time weeks to run. I sometimes (rarely, admittedly) get a CTD or freeze during a patrol, and sometimes a BSoD when I try and sleep or hibernate the PC, so losing a 8-12 day long patrol due to an inability to save and load a game has, frankly, made GWX unplayable/unenjoyable to me now.

I've heard that WAC is a good variant, so I've decided to try it. So far it seems pretty positive. Love the exquisite graphics! Here are some observations/feedback I have:

1) It takes forever getting in and out of harbors/ports, or near them. Unless I decide to change the default TC, I'm stuck at 8x for a very long time getting out to sea.

2) I keep getting a repetitive "No officer at helm station" even when there is an officer there.

3) Sound/voices aren't a consistent volume: some sounds are low, others are screechingly high. (I'm not talking about "panicked" voices, as those are going to be louder)

4) I would like to be able to "lock" the interface so that it remains displayed.

5) There seems to be a minor mismatch on the graphics of the interface; sometimes when I click on a "command" the messages just above move instead. As well, it is a copper-plated b*tch to scroll through the messages; I can't just click to display the last one, instead I have to select a new command to have the messages reset to the latest one.

6) More of a FYI: in a Type VII, the helm officer's position sometimes has him stand with a pole through him, other times his left foot is in a box of food (As I said, this is an FYI; I understand the difficulties in working with the animations).

7) No ability (that I can see) to easily set a course based relative to the boat as compared to compass true. (For instance, if I want to set course 36 degrees relative to my current course).

8) No ability (that I can see) to quickly return to center bridge view/position.

9) No shortcut to UZO view.

10) Seem unable to enter the conning tower any more.

11) Extremely difficult to see flags and identify them, even in clear weather. At 1,000 meters using binoculars, UZO and/or 10x attack periscope, I cannot identify flags.

Thx for your feedback and observations so far.
Some things I am aware of.

-Harbours are very big sind detailed in WAC
It could be made a 'start at sea' add in for some (all) harbours.

-never got that message, wondering a Bit

-About the voices and their difference I know
I have never been an audio ace in SH3.

-the wrong posititioned helms man who stands in the pole in interior is a known bug.

-to return to central bridge position F4 should work.

-UZO by key command is disabled in WAC5.0

-going into conning ist broken with full interiors
Maybe command_en or der from Manos GUI will fix

-maybe the new flag animations are responsible for the bad view?

Hi schlechter_pfennig. Just on the "No Officer at the Helm Station" thing, whilst I don't use WAC, I have had this happen before when a keyboard command has multiple entries in the Commands_en.cfg file. For instance, I had it happening when I used "PgUp" & "PgDn" for raising/lowering the periscope, even though all officers were at their stations, because some other commands were using those keys too.

If this message appears only when you're using particular keyboard commands, you might check that file for other commands using the same keys.

Default flag problems

I love the animations of the flags, I really do. But for some reason they are absolutely unseeable at night, even when I've zoomed to the ship and have positioned the camera within meters of the flag. If I use the mod "Flags_enlighten" they become very visible.

I've spent several hours experimenting, editing the flag.dat and flagS.dat files so that their settings match those in the "Flags_enlighten" mod (specifically the materials attributes settings [emissive], and the chunk "flag_N.tga") but that doesn't have any effect on the flag visibility.

Hopefully if you examine the "Flags_enlighten" mod you'll be able to figure out why that brightens up the flags, because I haven't been able to figure that out.

UPDATE: I've fixed the files so that the flags are brighter; the "emissive" setting just had to be cranked very high. At the moment the values I'm using are probably too bright, so after I experiment a bit and find a happy medium I'll upload the mod that'll brighten the flags up to a reasonable value.

Default Ahnenerbe Wide Gui Not Working

I have activated WAC5.0 with it's patch and the Mediterrranean Campaign and the AEWG with JSGME, but the resolution stays at the original. Where do I look for the problem?

I read about these problems with SH3 Steam version.
These problems are not caused by WAC!
