Soviet Storm 2011 A Russian two part series.

Looks like this person has combined both series together as some episodes had numbers and other there were none. On saying that he seems to slotting them well together, total number 18 episodes.

Combination of footage reenactment and cgi, narration is in english just one draw back the maps are in Russian.

Sub fans will like the episode war at sea.

Only watched the first two parts of a five part documentary not bad so far. The insight into captured German officers minds very interesting.

I've long been a fan of Michael Wood, creator of In Search of the Trojan War and In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great. I've only recently discovered his more recent series In Search of Myths and Heroes. I've had a great time the last few days watching , , and .

All are brilliant, and all follow his usual painstaking style of traveling to the locations in the stories and talking to historians and storytellers involved with every facet of each story.

Now I find that he has done many, many more that I need to watch. I'll be doing that as soon as possible.

Just been watching for the first time ever on YouTube the BBC Series they did on WW1 back in the 1964. Not bad for the time and a big series of 26 episodes, may take me a month or two to get though them all.

Coming to the end with three more to go just one draw back loss of sound in some of the episodes every so often...

Apart from that I have enjoyed watching this series and give it.

I bought a episode of this on video many years ago about the battle of Kursk which up to then never knew about. I wondered only today if this was a series and after checking yes and the rest is history. Just watched episode 1 may have time to watch episode 2 a bit latter.
