*Biggles walks up to HunterICX and take a look at the bomb*

-Hmpf....I've seen bombs like this one before. And I recognize the handwriting....it's me old nemesis, Erich Von Stalhein! It's time to take to the air again then...bah, that......just look! He stole my Lancaster! Now I'm bloody pissed! C'mon lads! Let's take that bird down! I'd rather see it burn than let it fall into Stalheins dirty hands!

Just to stir things up, Chock yells: 'Von Stalhein for President!'

followed by a provocative: 'Mark Way was asking for it!' *

* (need to read the Biggles books to get this one)

-How dare you!? *Biggles slaps Chock in the face* Mark was my gunner, and my mate! That Von Kraudil was better off dead than alive! We can't have jerries like that flying around, shooting pilots that obviously had to land! And Mark travelled all the way from New Zeeland to help us up here, show some bloody respect!

(btw, I'm quite surprised over your knowledge over the Biggles novels. I'd never imagined anyone here knowing about Mark Way....)

The Biggles novels might be ostensibly aimed at younger readers, but that's not to say that they are childish in all ways. Capt.W.E. Johns' experiences form the basis for a lot of the anecdotes which appear in early Biggles stories, which makes them semi-autobiographical, and you can learn a lot about the period of WW1 flying in the RFC by 'reading between the lines' in Biggles books. I remember re-reading the bit in 'Biggles learns to fly' some time ago, and it brought a wry smile to my face when I read the bit where he loses sight of the airfield on his first solo circuit and has to land in a nearby field, as I recalled my own first solo flight when I nearly ended up doing the same thing (fortunately in my case I spotted it again). I heartily recommend anyone into aeroplanes reading the early Biggles books, you'll be surprised how enjoyable they are.

For that one, I'll buy you a drink. It''s so nice to see that I'm not alone out there in the darkness!

Nevermind Kratos, I know the channel so well that there's talk of renaming it "Oberon's pool"

Still, after a frantic afternoons flying, there's nothing like a refreshing dip to get the blood flowing again....voluntary or otherwise....

STEED shouts out from the first floor "Shut up I'm entertaining the ladies here." then looks up "Fecking feck where did the fecking roof go."

STEEDS storms out to his YAK 9T takes to the air and shoots down the fecker who bombed the bar. "Take that you filthy fecker," and with that STEED returns to base to get badly drunk.

Meanwhile Dowly has won the farting contest and takes to the air and sticks his butt out the cockpit, back on the ground HunterIXC looks up and passes the comment “O’ my Dowly got three buttocks.
