Default What is the simplest way to improve graphics?

Hello,

I just returned to this game after 11 years of working and family raising and now I'm eager to sink some ships again. I have reinstalled the game on Windows 10 and GWX3 GOLD and it works.

The only problem is the graphics, they are too dated. I see that there is a lot of information out there about the graphics but it is hard to pick out the essentials. I tried Silent Hunter Resolution Fix v.1.4b but the window disappeared when I opened the command window and nothing happened.

I have a fairly modern computer and NVIDIA GeForceGTX 750 Ti. What's the best option for me I do to improve the graphics without it being too complicated?

Best regards,

This is a really nice 20KM SH5 water for SH3..water looks amazing.

M.E.P.S Version 5 with green water is also a good 20KM alternative

Rubini´s underwater dust&plancton effect v1 and Sh3 volumetric clouds&fog by Rubini v2.2 also improves the graphics.

These U boat skins are fantastic:

ANZACMICKS DAMAGE IMMERSION V0.5 open beta is a nice graphic damage improvement.

All of these are worth a look and improve the graphics in my opinion.

Thanks for the help. I now got the game running, modded with MEP v6 and Rubinis mod and a new monitor where Ahnerbes's mod works fine. And yesterday I sank my first ship at AN21 with manual targeting. This feels great!

I just installed this game after a very long time too. It took me about 2 hours to get it working well. I'm using the wac MODand sh3 commander with a 4k monitor. I used the old resolution override MOD to get the 4k resolution forced. The gui wide-screen mods don't work in 4k. I also forced a bunch of graphics options in my Nvidia control panel like aa and sampling. The game, to my surprise looks half decent in 4k. It's actually playable to me. The ui in wac is a little bit wonky in 4k but it works ok
