Wait, they did all the training videos on Nevada. They're gonna release the product without any kind of guides?

Have a little issue too: EAC switch doesn't stay enabled (mouse click in cockpit). Note on panel doesn't extinguish either, so it's not enabled. This is with everything else operational and aligned.

I know it didn't work at all at first, but I thought they fixed it.

Training missions were done in Georgia not Nevada. I think maybe the original intention was Nevada, but it wasn't ready.

IIRC the EAC will only enable after the Nav system aligns (this takes about 4 mins and can be seen on the CDU). http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.ph...&highlight=EAC

My bad, must be my memory. Training missions don't load for me, figured it was because they were on Nevada.

Nate
Aye, I know how it works, the switch just doesn't work. Wonder if it's because of the patching, think I'll try getting the full download and install fresh.

Hmm... Does the Avenger have any effect on ships? Like tanker or the bulk cargo ship? I did a few strafing runs on both types of ships but there didn't seem to be much of an effect.

Is there an actual damage model on the ships or just weapon x = ineffective weapon y = effective type system?

I dunno Downly, I have my doubts about how effective 30mm would be against medium-large ship. Either way, I would have to think that the naval damage model in DCS is pretty simple. Stuff that floats is strictly a side show for a sim that models the A-10.

Best promotional material for an A-10C sim, ever.

An interview with one of the producers ....

http://games.on.net/article/11576/De...im_Mackonochie

Quote:
games.on.net: Any firm release dates in mind? Christmas 2010 has been and gone

Jim Mackonochie: The download version will be released in late February. The boxed version will be available, dependant on territory, within 2 to 3 months later.

games.on.net: Anything else you'd like to add?

Jim Mackonochie: Coding has already started on the next aircraft in the DCS series. All I can say is that it will be a USA fixed wing aircraft!

Late Februari? That's nice.

Quick upgrade to beta6 soon and then a short wait for release. Lovely.

The AI can see and track human players through all solid houses, buildings, woods, single trees and bushes. And the worst is, that trees gives no solid cover. AI in woods can easily shoot you through trees. You see nothing but the AI can see everything and shoot you through the trees and woods.

Fog, heavy rain, clouds and haze reduces the visibilities only for human players but not the Ground-AI. The Ground-AI can see, track and shoot through all of these with ease.

So after 2 years of development we have to deal with the same dump AI. Maybe that's "lovely" for you arclight, but not for me.

And by the way, user Nate--IRL-- is part of the Eagle-dynamics team and it's obvious that his role here is to advert Eagle-dynamics products and nothing else.

But other than that, you love it, right?

Just to clarify something, I am part of the testers team, that is, the Volunteer tester team. I receive no payment from ED.

I make no secret of this, and some posters here know me on the ED forums also.

Also, if you are unhappy with my conduct on this forum please feel free report me to the moderators.

Exactly, not telling anyone anything new, ET.

After 2 years of development we have 2 high detail aircraft with a 3rd in development, a level of detail that is completely unheard of and probably won't be matched anytime soon.

Can't say I disagree on the AI though, especially the tree issue is annoying flying the Ka-50, getting shot at by units you couldn't possibly see. All the while your AI wingman is calling out targets like they have strobes attached to them.

At any rate, once you actually learn to fly and be more cautious, it isn't even an issue. The best defence is to not get shot at, so if you notice enemies shooting through trees and spotting you behind a building, you're already too close.
