Default replacement textures for FSX rain, snow, lights

Anyone know some? The defualt ones look terrible and far inferior to earlier stuff. Unfortunately, REX 2 does not change rain and snow.

That tunnel I'm flying into when it is raining or snowing makes me timewarping back into the early 90s´ visuals - I used to see such effects in Amiga games, sometimes.

Shockwave's lights are available for the default planes, and cost money. But they are configured only for the default FSX planes. I do not fly the default planes. All externally added planes need to be configured. Has anyone ever done that? Difficult or easy? The producer webpage is not clever enough to explain it at his product's main website, maybe they have to hide something?!

Default

I checked the web up and dopwn, but nobody seems to have a solution. I wonder what MS was thinking when implementing this bunch of ugliness into the weather engine. Raining and snowing are not even beta stage, but alpha at best.
