Default December 7, 1941

Is there a way (any way) to make the German campaign start from December7, 1941?
Has this been tried before?

I'm a great fan of IJN. I've been playing sub sims since 1987, when I bought my first PC. I always wanted to experience the Japanese side, I-Boats that is. Reading Mochitsura Hashimoto's "Sunk" when I was young made me even more obsessed with the IJN.

UBIsoft provided me with a great sub sim, SH4. But also disappointed me deeply. The German campaign in the Pacific and Indian oceans, had very little (if any) results. The main combatants in the Pacific were USA & Japan. Why U-Boat missions and not I-Boat missions? IJN had some of the most unique subs of WW2. The mission variety is endless. From passing through naval blockades to supply isolated garrisons, to releasing deadly human torpedoes, release and retrieve scout planes over enemy territory etc.

UBIsoft had the chance to create something unique here, with making a IJN I-Boat campaign. SH4 is the Pacific Theater of Operations. Why should they throw two U-Boats and a campaign starting from 1943? Spare me the historical accuracy. The XXI presented in SH4 didn't see any action at all, not only in the Pacific but in the whole darn war !!!

I understand. UBIsoft introduced 1.5 UBM because U-Boats "sell". Everyone loves them. I love them. But why in the Pacific? SH 2 & 3 were about the U-Boat war. They had plans for SH5 for another U-Boat half-war campaign. I mean, come on!! Four out of five SH series have U-Boats modelled. What's keeping me from playing SH3 with GWX Gold to experience "the real thing"? Who wouldn't do that instead of playing their abomination of a U-Boat campaign in the Pacific? Why not create even a single class I-Boat (for the first time in gaming history) and a suitable campaign for it? But no, they preferred money over originality. Fully acceptable.

The question is: can WE do something about it? Keltos created some magnificent I-Boats. Unfortunately the Japanese Campaign project died. Is there any way to create a port (in Tokyo Bay for example) and change the German starting date to Dec 7, 1941? AT LEAST to start the Pacific war from the beginning...

Regards,
Billy.

Operation Monsun lets you run a full u-boat campaign from the start of the war, or most times during the war. You can operate out of Europe or the Pacific, but I think only when the real monsun boats did so for the latter. As for Japanese boats, I'm unsure about any of that.

While you're at it you might want German voices in your German boat:

OR (but not together)

And I want a Destroyer Command 2, so I can chase you and destroy.
What was it beautiful, where we met by SH2 / DC ... and then the submarines have sunk to diverse kind. My clan tag was DSK_Ralf.
