Out of date institution time for them to call it a day. Over 65% of the population of the UK is not interested in the royals. Wast of money that would be better spent on the NHS and the police.
A drop on a hot stone. Forget it.As long as we do not question at principle fundament the right of states to raise taxes (and beleive me, i question it), running this institutional show gives you a lot back, and more than you have to invest into it. Not only does it form identity in your by now quite diverse society, more important, it earns you sympathy from other countries and peopel as well. And that is something you will need bitterly after completed Brexit, because it may lure business contacts towards your shores again.

From the perspective of commercial advertisement, 82 million per year for THIS advertising campaign, to me sounds like a steal, almost. Compare that to the many wastes of money for summits and galas, sports events abused for propaganda by politicians and business, government distributing careers and pensions and privileges as gifts to politicians, and so forth.

Your theatre monarchy serves a much better job of producing shared indentity among your people and making you friends from ashore, than our Federal president (you know his name?), embattled Macronman in Super Franconia, or the Donald in the Polarized States of America. Seen this way, you Brits have it lucky.

And just btw, the big events like this one are real breathtakers. Nobody does this kind fo stuff like you Brits, nobody. Every couple of years, I love to watch it. I wonder whether I am still around when the next big marriage takes place.

I think France could do the same thing with the Foreign Legion if they threw some money into doing so. I think maybe the USA could alter the USMC a bit to fill the roll of incorporating foreigners into the US in a more cohesive manner, and giving them a shared national identity. It's not like we'll probably need to do much island hopping for awhile. It's also not like they'd need more money to do it, just re-distribute some of that (more then the next eight nations combined) yearly ob$cene expenditure.

Did you see that electric XKE Jaguar replica, provided by his father Charles, that Prince Harry drove off in?

This Jaguar left as much of the original 1968 Series 1.5 E-Type in tact as possible while replacing the original inline-six engine with an electric motor and battery pack. Enough power is sent to the rear wheels to push this feline from 0-62 in just 5.5 seconds. That means it's quicker now than it was when new and chugging on gasoline.

Plus did you know that Meghan's father won the lottery way back a long time ago, $750,000 to be exact and that he used that money to send his daughter Meghan to the best schools ... what a nice investment that was, uh?

$750,000 is a serious sum, and I understand that he wanted to support his daughter, nicely done, which parent had not done it!

E-Type Zero (2017)Jaguar unveiled a modern revival of the 1968 E-Type series 1.5 roadster with an all-electric, zero-emission powertrain in September 2017. The vehicle has a 40 kWH battery-powered electric motor> and can accelerate to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds.[30] On a full charge, the vehicle has a range of 168 miles (270km). Having occasionally driven the original back in 1970-73 I would miss the throaty roar of the straight six engine...
