Just watched this compilation of colorised U-boot photos

It's a Photoshop.

The u-boat in question has a deck gun, which were removed from most type VIIs by late 1942, a full year before Böse Vögelwas released for the Enigma machine.

Also, Red didn't become a playableBöse Vögel character until mid 1944, when Wernher von Braun accidentally inserted him into his moon-launch calculations, causing a V2 missile to fall on London instead.
