Default I'm Having a blast with Strike Fighters 2

Wow! I don't know how I've been missing out on this one. I tried SF2 Israel, simulates the 6 day war, yom kippur, and Lebanon war. Its so good I had to buy all the others, Vietnam and Europe (that all conveniently merge into one install). The plane sets are good, gameplay and graphics are good, and the mods and available addon planes make it huge.

Gameplay is the best part, quick mission generator, and full campaigns are flyable, with the whole range of mission types to fly. Intercept, SEAD, close air support, strike.

I've pretty much retired all my other flight sims, now I'm burning up migs over SE Asia.

I've heard good things about it.

It seems Strike Fighters is like those sims of the 90's. The flight modelsmight not have been real, but the planes were different to each otehr, but the missions were fun and the campaign good.

It is a shame they don't try and make them more nowadays.

FPS is what makes the money.

Wings over Europe is quite fun, finds a place on my harddrive from time to time. The NATO fighters addon is a must.

I'd have to say it has some of the better flight models. (its designed by an aviation engineer).

Yep you should get them all. I have Wings over Israel installed and I'm shooting down Israeli jets daily now.

I have made almost all the Arab side planes to be flyable with custom cockpit too. You should get the mod too. The campaign is now flyable for both sides. I love hearing that MiG-21 engine sound shrieking past at 800km/h well until I got a lock on tone from the RWR then bip bip bip bip meaning shot at and a few barrel rolls before I got squashed from the air by the evil Capitalist Sparrow missiles.

And not forgetting even when I had good tone and launched at the Israeli jets the missile would most of the time failed to lock. By the time the Arab got their missiles properly working the Israeli had introduced that &*T^*%&^#%!@$#@%^&&%^ Eagle %^$%$%#@

Oh how I love this game

MiG-21 F13, MiG-21 PF, MiG-21 PFM, MiG-21 MF, MiG-21 BIS
MiG-19 S, MiG-17, MiG-17F, Su-7 BMK. All flyable with mods.

This is when I flew the MiG-19S just few days ago:

Sleek lines there's a certain beauty in being a bit ugly Her attitude is worse though quite an unforgiving AC to fly she could and would enter into an unrecoverable spinning stall if you try to fly her in a turning fights too hard which you should never do.

Really?
I uninstalled it again after a few days. What did you like about it?
The graphics weren't that good, physics next to non existent, no flight school, no introduction movies that could explain you how to do things, no decent manual, no decent briefings ("destroy the warehouse!"...Which of the three?) you could land in the middle of the jungle, an AI that makes the one in IL2 look uber intelligent....

Maybe I should add that I played the stock version.

I have to agree that wings over Vietnam wasn't so hot, particularly when it came to any kind of air to ground strikes. If they improved that aspect in the strike fighters 2 series I may consider getting it. I want a good Vietnam air sim.

Mods man, you need the mods. Heres the huge one for Vietnam. (SF2, not the SF1 series)

Bombed a port yesterday, loaded with patrol craft. I wish I'd taken some screens of the secondary explosions!

Strike Fighters is like having the fantastic variety of Janes Fighter Anthology, without the arcadey flight dynamics and gameplay.

Not to say JFA wasn't fun, just not a real sim sort of game.
