Should be in the PC forum - but it sounds like its just a rubber cover. Can you take a picture for us to be sure?

Sounds like it's just a cover to protect the port from accidental damage and dirt. Should just lever off.

Before you go pulling it off - what is the model of the laptop. I'd rather make sure that is what you think it is before you pull it.

I did some more research and found out that this model, nor none in it's series, have an HDMI port. But. Why would there be a HDMI plug with a cap in it if neither of the model series had an HDMI. Several sources said to use a VGA plug. I have a VGA plug. Is it going to work the same as HDMI? I want to play GWX3 on a big screen......TV.

Sounds like a standard case that they just plug the ports not used. If you use the VGA port you will also need to supply sound from the head phone jack to your TV. HDMI supplies both.

You could get a vga to hdmi cable, that should work with getting the image to your tv. Though the preferable option would be to just get a vga to vga cable and use a dvi to vga converter if your tv has dvi ports

Just an idea, my new blu ray player has a flash drive... I just move my programs from my PC to the flash drive and yippe--I'm watching them on the Big Screen.
