Mission 5
Clear the way for Fw-190s attacking enemy shipping entering Murmansk Outcome No enemy contacts sighted, although the Finns and Germans were heavily engaged. Waited over the enemy convoy for the slowest Fw-190s in the Luftwaffe to show up, then diverted to Murmansk then RTB. Raptors totally historical skin... Slowest Fw-190s ever... Hunter's 109 Mission 6 Fw-190A4s attack shipping leaving Murmansk harbour Outcome Took off in eco-Fw-190A4s which have throttles that don't go above 88%. Attacked the shipping, Oberon crashed whilst taking a screenshot of Hunters successful bomb drop, Arclight was shot down by the ship AAA, then Raptor and Hunter were bounced by Soviet Hurricanes. Hunter stalled and then entered a spin into the sea, while Raptor was set on fire and crashed. Raptor and his 'Marie' bomb Hunters bomb hits its mark...and then I hit mine... Hunter flies over the damaged ship The Hurricanes bounce Hunter The merge The stall The fire The end Mission 7 Clear the way for Fw-190s attacking Murmashi airfield Outcome Took off and headed for Murmashi, patrolled around Murmashi airfield and then spotted a group of enemy contacts heading for our lines. Turned and engaged, Hunter and Oberon took engine damage and RTB'd, Arclight and Raptor engaged and shot down several Peshkas. Oberon pancaked next to the airfield, Raptor nosed over whilst trying to clear the runway rapidly for Oberon, and then crashed his IL2, Arclight and Hunter landed ok. Raptors completely historical skin suffers a breakdown If the formation was any looser it would be in different countries... Hello Peshkas from hell... I made his engine smoke... ...and he returned the favour... Raptor makes short work of the remaining Peshkas While I make my traditional sliding exit from the cockpit... And Raptor heads for space, via the Earths core... |

Yeah, I'm going to take a look at the settings in DCG I think, I'm pretty sure Platinum Fox did not just consist of Fw-190s...

Nope, but JG5 did mainly use 109's and 190's and was the Fighterwing most active in the Murmansk area during 1942 before moving to southern Norway Late 42 early 43 due increased threat by the Allied Airforces in the area.
@Zirran: So far the flights are on wednesday and thursday night.
