Some strange bugs...

So I just installed a new vanilla SH3 (from Amazon) and proceeded to install GWX 3.0, SH3C, JSGME, and activated the following mods:

MFM v3.3
SH3 Commander SH3 skins
Ahnenerbe WideGui 1920 x 1080 Final

I also used the SH3 Front End and installed the 4GB patch and the S3H-H.sie Patch v16B1

Now I'm having some weird issues...for example, I get a lot of blank alerts - it will say "WO:" like my weapons officer has a message, but there is nothing there.

Another one is a constant "No officer at helms station" although I DO have an officer at helms (and he has the helmsman qualification)

Perhaps the most maddening is my periscope (which is working fine) all of a sudden will not stay raised...I raise it, take my finger off the PGUP or INS key, and it starts to lower itself automatically. If I want to use it I have to keep my finger on the PGUP or INS keys!

Just wondering if anyone has seen similar issues or knows which mod it might be related to.

Ah I just realized the periscope issue is a feature of 16B1 that occurs at higher speeds...that was my main PITA! If anyone has any ideas about the weird blank messages and no officer at helm messages I'm all ears!

You must add en_menu.txt with the appropriate lines for patch 16B1.

ah you are a genius! I remember getting a conflict message when activating Ahnenerbe about that file...so, how do I get both to play nice? Is there somewhere I can download the proper en_menu file to install?

That's the problem, I installed it with SH Front End so never saw there was a manual. I will hunt it down now, thank you kindly!

Once you sort out H.sie's patch look at Stiebler' 4C V16B1 addon for Hsie ' V16B1 patch. Adds some other nice to have features.

There is a mod out there that makes use of SH3 commander that auto adds the proper lines so no matter what your mod profile it will always be there
