Having problems with "Blockade of Germany?"

I couldnt figure that objective out because when ever i sunk a ship on the partrol line it never counted as one of the the five ships you have to sink..., so i tried looking at the objective in the map maker, and the 5 ships your looking for are:
  • Frigates
  • Corvettes
  • Auxiliary Cruisers
Hope this helps.

Thank you. I have been looking for the reason why none of the ships I sank counted towards my objective.

easiest is sitting near the start of the patrol arrow thing near scotland and keep using the find hidden ships , got that part done fast, the finding the carrier down in other area is giving me grey hairs

I saw the carrier once on my scope...then I saw that it was doing 31 knots and just rolled my eyes.

You guys sound like you are much farther along than me (I am taking way too much time in each mission, I know ).

What can you tell me about these objectives? Do I need to sink a certain type of ship by a certain time? A certain amount of tons by a certain date?

To do what? Continue? Get a kiss from Doenitz' secretary?

I've seen "objectives" listed in the mission briefings but I have not come across anything that prevents me from continuing the campaign if I don't sink 10 ships per patrol (I am averaging 2).

thanks for any details and help,
Neal

This "Blockade of Germany" mission seemed somehow strange to me too.

I had finished the first objective by sinking more than 50k merchant tonnage near the British coast line by early October. After leaving base in mid of October '39 for the mission which I supposed to be next, sink 100k merchant tonnage in the south western approaches. I recognized the iron cross between Iceland and Faroer, which describes that blockade mission while travelling around Great Britain enroute to my patrol area.
That one was certainly not mentioned in the mission briefing before, so maybe it is a possible next objective?!

Cheers,
Michael

the blockade missions generates at a certain date , and its shorter limit then 100-50 sink one, but sigh i am so bored trawling the assigned area for the aircraft carrier , only finding task forces with destroyers not a singel aircraft carrier

Doing the same mission atm, sank 2 objective ships between Torshavn and Stornoway near the markes line, they looked like troop ships but gave out blue contact lines like warships do

I've read the carrier can be a pain in the arse to find, found a task force consisting 1 carrier with large destroyer screen @ 49.5N 6W sailing east so setting a patrol near there might get you lucky, I had only 1 electric eel in stern tube so had to let it go. Prolly never gonna see it again

Hey Mahakmar,

The carrier you need to sink is never in the so-called "Carrier Patrol Circle". You actually have to go right outside of the port of Plymouth and it will be there or actually sink it while its docked at that port....I was so pissed of that when I couldnt find it myself...so I looked in the Campaign files...and found out where its supposed to be.

I kept running into it early on when I was learning how to play the game and doing the British supplies mission. Did not know it was one of the hardest targets to find and a must sink objective. I stayed away from it because of the ring of DDs around it. I thought they were DDs of GWX caliber, but the DDs in this game are just for looks, like the R.A.F. planes flying over me all the time and waving at me.

I kept seeing it at the western mouth of the channel. There is also a Furious class carrier around there, that one I did sink.

Hmm, I sank the Ark Royal way before the Blockade of Germany mission. I wonder if I'm screwed now, as there is no credit showing for it...

yeah i've been having a really hard time finding anything except large steamers on the northern patrol line.

found a single troop carrier - these seem to count for the '5 ships' mission, but nothing else has turned up, despite me patrolling til i'm almost bingo on fuel.

This mission is a mess and i ended up leaving it alone.

Up north there's like one, maybe two, auxiliary ships a month and hardly any task forces and the carrier isn't at the spot but near Plymoth.

Now i'm doing Weserubung and it's almost the same. No battleships and rarely english ships close to Narvik. This game is getting more and more frustrating.

First thing I ran into was a taskforce with a QE battleship, 2 cruisers and a bunch of escorts.

Plenty of ships to be found there, me thinks.
