Default [REL] Nav Map Sub Icon for OLC Ubermod 2.4.2

Nav Map Sub Icon for OLC Ubermod 2.4.2

This mod puts the u-boat marker back on the Nav map
leaving the ship contacts missing as intended with OLC
Special requiring you to plot their course/location.

My feeling is the navigator would have your u-boat's
position marked at all times on the map so I made this
for myself and figured I would put it out here for anyone
who may want it.

I have not tested this with all boats but it should work
fine.

Thanks to OLC for making such a wonderful mod!

Enjoy!

Thanks a lot Gairith. I'm not sure if it was his intention to leave it out but none the less I like it!

Indeed. "Fix" isn't really the right word.
Still, a lot of people complained about it, so this should be appreciated Gairith.

I agree "fix" tends to imply something is broken where as this is more of an "option" without sacrificing the immersion of plotting the contacts.

Thanks for the add on.

One thing I noticed with this is it'll mark not just your own sub but other submarines as well.

Currently in an IXB - And I was departing from Lorient with this mod activated for the first time. I noticed a ton of circles all around the docs. I thought I remembered that this left other contacts unmarked as intended by OLC, so I was wondering why I was seeing stuff auto marked on my navmap... turns out it was friendly uboats, lol.

Just FYI.

Oh, and I'm not sure if this will auto mark enemy subs or not, I didn't make it out of port. There were so many marks on the map, clustered together, that I accidently rammed another uboat and went smashing into the pier. Killing 2 men and critically flooding. :rotfl:Reloaded and I'm off again. Hehe.

That'll learn me to stop navigating out of the doc solely in navmap.

Took a screenshot after reloading to show you what I mean:

Installed and works like a dream.

Is a big problem with turn on visualisation contacts on the nav map?

Is there a version of this mod that uses a circle instead of the dot for the submarine? I cant mark my subs location in that big black dot.

Hello Kaleuns,

Here is a workaround to get back your submarine's position IF you play in "No map updates" mod as I do:
Open C:/program files/Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/menu/cfg/maps.cfg and in [Map0] and [Map1] put SymbolZoom=10 instead of 500, and you'll have back the little submarine circle.
You can also do this in the MODS/OLC GUI Special/data/menu/... before enabling the OLC GUI Special mod if you want this configuration back each time you disable and re-enable the OLC GUI instead...
Of course, if you play with map updates enabled, you'll get back all the markings at any zoom level as well using this trick...

Good hunt !!!
