One of the nice things about Fotrs Ultimate, a player can report something with his game and wham, you get three guys jumping in to see what's going on.....Try that with TMO, RFB, or RSRDC!!

I found an issue in the Large Old Tanker file that won't allow a specific texture to display when its called on. Open the Sea/T07B folder (that's the Large Old Tanker) and go to the T07B_T014.dds....change its name to T07B_T14.dds....remove the zero from the .dds images name. That should do it.

I've also looked at the Gar from Fremantle.....at least the Fremantle part of things. Go to Data/UPCData/UPCCampaignData/Flotillas.upc. Drill down to the [Flotilla 2.Base 2] section:

[Flotilla 2.Base 2]
ID= Surabaya
NameDisplayable= Surabaya, Java
ExternalBaseName= Surabaya
AvailabilityInterval= 1941-12-24, 1942-02-28
DepartureDescription1= 13527892, -862660, 14.000000
DepartureDescription2= 13527708, -863034, 330.000000
DepartureDescriptionOut1= 13522966, -817381, 358.439789

[Flotilla 2.Base 3]
ID= Fremantle
NameDisplayable= Perth-Fremantle, Australia
ExternalBaseName= Fremantle
AvailabilityInterval= 1942-02-29, NULL
DepartureDescription1= 13888005, -3846830, 270
DepartureDescription2= 13888720, -3847296, 270
DepartureDescriptionOut1= 13792344, -3862100, 352.689484

Propbeanie and s7rikeback, see anything wrong here?

How about the date of "1942-02-29' in [Flotilla 2.Base 3]....no such date....well OK, there is one every 4 years....but not as the game is concerned!

Make this change to those two files entries:

[Flotilla 2.Base 2]
ID= Surabaya
NameDisplayable= Surabaya, Java
ExternalBaseName= Surabaya
AvailabilityInterval= 1941-12-24, 1942-02-27
DepartureDescription1= 13527892, -862660, 14.000000
DepartureDescription2= 13527708, -863034, 330.000000
DepartureDescriptionOut1= 13522966, -817381, 358.439789

[Flotilla 2.Base 3]
ID= Fremantle
NameDisplayable= Perth-Fremantle, Australia
ExternalBaseName= Fremantle
AvailabilityInterval= 1942-02-28, NULL
DepartureDescription1= 13888005, -3846830, 270
DepartureDescription2= 13888720, -3847296, 270
DepartureDescriptionOut1= 13792344, -3862100, 352.689484

I think that may help.

I doubt if this is the issue with not getting the correct Deck Gun on your Gar boat, but we'll keep at it.

ANOTHER February 29th!!!???!!??!?? I'll get those dates settled also... The thing of it is, I was ~JUST~ in that file for another February 29th date associated with the Surabaya base, and did multiple "searches" afterwards on the file... There are just too many date formats in the game, with some doing the year first, then the month and date, then others are month, date, year... Then there's some with hyphens, some without... Yikes! OH! Wait! that is the one I just did! whew!...

There is the Large Address Aware applet like CapnScurvy have in his thread 'Windows10; Large Address Aware; SH4 Install", and there's the NTCore "4GB Patch" which is a bit older, and was originally intended for use in Windows XP 32-bit machines that had 4GB of ram, and allowed the altered exe to use as much as system resources would let them. LAA is the one to use with today's computers. They both do the same thing though...

Many thanks. 4Gb Patch works fine in my W10x64 but I will try this.

Nice finds, I will update my game once I re-build it... Getting massive CTD errors on loading

Me thinks I deleted something in the main directory that I should not have...

That will teach me for trying to unpack the main exe to see whats in there. I did not find much except that I had unpacked it into my main directory...

So old bright boy here, decided to delete the newly created files, and got carried away..

Capn Scurvy, sorry I thought I include the date/ time in the message, it was 18Oct42 @ 12:21 hours and the submarine was based out of Fremantle, Australia.

@ s7rikeback. Both ships were flying the white flag with a red meatball dead in the center.

(just to be certain) I found a GENERIC Freighter and GENERIC Tanker group out of Davao in the Merchants layers, that travels on that line in the area, but on a heading of about 212... Another out of Manila travels on like a 100 heading, but may have been trying to avoid you... were you spotted? In all cases, there is no zig-zagging in the area, because of the strates.
@propbeanie. I should have said that the ship heading was 42°, instead of"on a course of 42° at seven knots". I took the reading off the map, I have ' map contacts on' in order to help me with the AOB angle during tracking. The targets were first spotted on radar. As the the targets came closer, I drove to radar depth and later to periscope depth. The weather was great for enemy escorts, which there wasn't any,but it's just a habit when approaching enemy targets I have. They weren't zig-zagging, so I don't think they spotted me. Now only if I had some torpedoes to shoot towards them. I think a reef was needed in that area for the fish! And also have outside camera on to look at the ships in order to spot any that not look right.

Many thanks for your hardwork on this project gentleman. I do enjoy the mod!

Ok, looking at the flag you saw, and looking at the Japan roster, the good Capn has found the fault already. "does he ever sleep?"

I've been playing around in .62 and have encountered a number of CTDs in the Makassar Straits. The last on which happened a few moments ago was after I received a sonar contact on a warship. Had a second contact before the game went south. The date was March 18, 1942 or as near as I remember. The CTDs are occuring in the north end of the Makassar Straits.

cdrsubron7, were you getting any there before v0.60? We may have missed a ship up in there. Or... is it usually in about the same place or distance from the Strate? Can you enable external camera and take another trip there with a save, and 'fly' ahead with the ext cam and see if maybe there's a traffic jam in the Strates?

s7rikeback, so the "FOTRSU - Fixes V0.63x update" have these three recent corrections in it?

Correction to the T07B image; the Flotillas.upc date; and the equipment loadout on the Parker?

GREAT, all packaged in one place.

Dan, I'm wondering about this. That T07B_T14.dds shows a "StartDate=19430101" in its Roster/Japan/Sea folder.

Larrywb57 said: "... it was 18Oct42" when he encountered the bad texture on the Medium Old Tanker. Does that make sense to you? I'm wondering if there isn't another issue still in the works beside what I found?

Yes, all in one package...

Hmm i have seen this before, during the truk issues. Multiple convoys and that sonic boom.

I remember propbeanie mentioning something about the campaign layers maybe to blame in previous problems, where we could not find any problem with the units in question that were naked.

But as PB has stated, these layers have multiple variations of date formats and perhaps there is an error there....

I will try a few test runs around that date with the unit and report back.

Ok, gents, what does d3dx9_32.dll do (if you know)?

i was right in the middle of a torpedo attack and WHAM....CTD.
driving an S-18 in the Java sea, Feb 20-something, 1942. Looking at a 10 ship task force with escorts. they are headed due south approx 15 kts and i am headed due north periscope depth 3 kts.

went back and re-loaded the mission. got off a few shots and sunk three ships. then my keyboard and mouse locked. whatever screen i was in at the time is now frozen. i can hear sound effects but cannot move the mouse or effect any changes with the keyboard. did this twice.

also, when i reloaded the mission, my screen did some funky things....like white-out two gauges as well as the control room.
