Default Selecting Missions/ Breaking the Fortress

I am aware that there are already a number of posts on this topic but I am still not sure if I got the answer to my quesiton. I finished the Danzig Bay mission and returned to Kiel. For my second patrol I could only select and request the Mission "Eastern British Coastal" at the Mission officer. Done that and started my patrol. When on the ship (it is now September 29) going into the NavMap I can now also see the "Breaking the Fortress" Mission which I can click on but I cannot request it. It does say however, that the mission needs to be finished by October 15 so there is not a lot of time left (2 weeks). So my question is could I just go to Scapa Flow and the mission will fire automatically? Do I first need to patrol the area asssigned to me as described in the Captain's log? Or do I need to go back to Kiel Harbor and request the "Breaking the Fortress" Mission?

Thanks for your help!

I probably should add that I play with the latest TWOS mod. Thanks!

You can go directly to Scapa Flow, do the mission, and return to base before October 15. You will then be able to select "Eastern British Coastal" again and do it.

Interesting, i just noticed this too yesterday.
When i came out of the Kiel Canal and entered the North Sea 'Breaking The Fortress' popped for me too.

So if i do as above, i presume i just refit at Kiel rather than 'End patrol' ? and then continue with the 'Eastern British Coastal' mission?
Just worried i may run out of time for EBC patrol, because of time in dock and traveling.

John.

Hi John
BTF popping up on tha map is what usually happens.
It is not a mission that you need to request.
You have probably alredy requested a EBC mission and have an objective.
That is not a problem as you can still do BTF and racking up some tonnage here will go towards your U-boat upgrade.
You are perfectly placed after BTF to drop down the East Coast and continue with your mission objective.

Re-fitting does not carry any date forwarding only 24 hours, but unlike ending a patrol where your game is finished with re-fitting your game data will be building and contintue to build up as your patrol time lengthens.

In due course you will see 3 missions on your map.
NWA has the largest targets and you can rack up some big tonnage as AMC's and Troop Ships make good targets.

Duly noted, thanks Peter.

Nice one, I'll have a mooch around Scapa first, then make my way down east coast on way to rearm.
