Default Can you change a harbor from US to JAP?

I am making a Single Mission where the Japanese have a base on Wake Island. I want to attack Wake Island. But the game automatically puts US Ships there and it looks strange with my Jap Battleship with it's flag and all the other ships with their US Flags.

I know how to Merge and bring in Harbours using the Campaign_Loc.mis file. Also Harbor Traffic. Make sure 'not' to click Saveable flag. But I assume I cannot change any of the Harbor or Traffic and make it savable or the game will duplicate it when it loads my mission? Is that correct?

I read Here that you can modify the harbors and save them, but I don't understand how that can work unless you make it savable and also include the Campaign.Loc file in your mission when you distribute it.

What is the date on your mission? The base should load based upon the date set.

I think that the stock game is broken and might give the US Wake back, when in fact it was bypassed.

11th month of 1941.

Am I correct in assuming I cannot edit the stock harbors/traffic. Unless I edit the Campaign_LOC.mis and also include that in my downloads? I don't want to mess with that. Maybe I should just pick a different island with no bases....

Um, THE WAR HASN'T STARTED YET.

The US controls Wake, because the Japanese didn't invade it until December 23d .

Ok, but I was just wanting to make a non-historical single mission. I didn't think the game would impose historical rules on me.

I guess I have to follow true history if I want to use islands with built-in harbors... Or change the dates.

Most campaign files load for ALL missions.

Look at Campaign.cfg. You will see a line that mentions SingleMissions, Career, Multiplayer, etc. That is a list of what types of missions will load that particular .mis fil. Campaign_LOC is loaded for all (which hasthe harbors). The different side's Harbor_Traffic.mis files place the ships in them, and the land units has the guns, and the air cover the air bases.

You'd have to alter several campaign files for this. Why not just move the date forward a couple months?

Thanks. Yes, I did move the date forward and now the Japanese ships are there.

I was just trying to understand how it works.
