Default GWX and M.E.P v6

I'm not about to start a huge discussion regarding the sensors in GWX and what not, but I wonder if the sensors in the M.E.P v6 addon "Visual sensors for GWX" is identical to the original GWX sensors?

From a gameplay perspective I would say yes, the only difference being adjustments to accommodate the new 20km atmosphere of MEPv6, whereas GWX only had a maximum of 16km. There's some decent notes about it in the readme. Hope this helps.

Hi

I run GWX3 and M.E.P. v5.

The files must be different because "M.E.P v5- VisualSensors for GWX3", that comes with M.E.P. v5. is installed directly after M.E.P v5 in the load order.

This updates the GWX Sensors for the new 20km environment.

M.E.P. v6 should have the same fix in the zip somewhere. Just use that and you should be good to go.

.
When i used it with NYGM i did not install them, i look at the values and did not liked them .
I think the mod author says something about it in the readme :
"Only the visual settings are tweaked for each supermod (all other sensors-radar,hydrophones...etc-are just as authors of supermods have set them).
you can skip the installation of sensors pack if you are not satisfied with my settings at visual sensors.
That way you go back at the original settings of supermod but i suggest you to edit only your Sensors.dat (with s3d) and set,at visual node, preciserange=19800 and maxrange=19900 .this is necessery in order your crew to spot the ship at about 20km "

Thanks for replies. I think I've messed up then but it's easily fixable. I wanted to tweak the visual setting so that surface attacks in darkness was possible.

I'll figure it out somehow. Typically I spend more time modding than actual playing for a while until everything is subjectively perfect.

I've decided to give LSH a go over GWX before pursuing this fix further though, so maybe LSH is "perfect" for me. Time will show!

Cheers!

I've recently added the MEP GWX sensors option and tested it via a single mission, once with and once without..... with the visual sensors, the escorts would not ping my boat no matter what i tried. full speed etc...

took it off with just mep6 on, and its back to hard core gwx style..

????

It is a very long story, that I will respectfully make very short.

My recommendation is to not knowingly do anything at all, that alters GWX sensors.
