Only Previews, Previews, Previews! But...
...which state are they? This would be more important to know, than just hearing from all side "note: only preview versions are out". Maybe this is some kind of information, many of us may already have known.
But which versions are they? When do they have been released? This would give a better, clearer picture of how much time has passed since... And this would be also very helpful to lead the actual discussion into more calm waters.

Well, there is something to have in mind...
The newest previews came this week or the one before. Then you have the old previews like the one from Ign from august 2009.
Takling about the preview versions i really think they may be old codes. Like many say the Alien versus predator demo is old code, i believe silent hunter 5 could be the same. They shouldn't usually do major changes ( massive bugfixing ) to a game only 3 weeks before it comes out, i think they are doing minor changes. If they still are producing the game, even with small changes in code, they can't send that version for preview as it would have been broken. Therefore i think the preview versions are old, and if so, it's good cause it means the final game ( it should! ) be good. It may be so that the preview version are from last year, after all the game has been in production a while. So hope for the best!

Irrelevant.
one can not compare the state of X to Y, if Y is still not published. You wont get an answer to this question.

Don't previews have a version/date stamp?

So, we know when it was compiled.
Thus giving us an idea about the development date and time.

If the VIIC is really a stand in for IXB (U-110), then this version might be few months old. And the missing range finder from Hood adds to this.
That is my positive thinking... |
