Is there any chance someone with 3d skills could give the model a bit of an overhaul? The whole boat needs to be stretched, it looked much skinnier in RL. Plus the torpedo doors were different too...
Not sure about the scale though. It looks about the right size to me, at least judging by the size of the crew members.

A thought,

You should take one of the existing british MTB models and
do a seperate one from the german built on the other
type II or a lesser type VII. whatever as long as its
a different sub than the one your using now, so as
both can be selected seperately when logging into mp.

its nothing to put in a british player unit in a mission.
Ive sailed with the RN quite a few times in shIII. in the
case described here, all you need to do is set up the
mission in the following way. assuming a few things for
a moment to describe it.

if your using typeIIA for the German Schnellboote
then you would assumably use the TypeIID for the
Brit.
under this circumstance you simply would put the
appropriate roster cfg into the british roster file for
submarines. (ie. SSTypeIID) After which when you
make the mission you put in the type II A for the
germans and when its time to put in the brits you
go to submarine then british then type II D make
sure it also is a player driveable by selecting such
in the unit properties. all thats left aside from normal
mission building is selecting the MP mission bit. and
your done. its really pretty simple.

at that point once the mission is ready and handed
out those who want to be German choose typeIIA
when logging into mp and those that want to be
with the RN choose type II D

Also for those who are building and working
at mission building in this project or for that
matter any project in shIII you may want to
try this.

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=103633

Why not have adversarial MTB MP?

Regards all
MM

[edit] for those that want to try this now just place a copy of
the existing Roster cfg for sub used by the Schnellboote
and follow the procedure. you will all be driving the same boat
but you will show friend and enemy.

more clearly thats Copy the appropriate type II from
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Roster\German\S ubmarine
and paste it into
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Roster\British\ Submarine

Now then Hopefully if you put in a german typeIIA and a brit typeIIA
then Hopefully mp will give you a choice of two different type II's but
I am not sure as they are using the same file.

One suggestion - change your number of days in base to something shorter. Unless you like going out just once a month (I set mine to... 1, so far :p)

Please do. It would be great to see one of those intricate, tiger-striped skins that some S-Boats were painted in - especially if it's hi-res.

Default to Mikhayl

hello

My wife "Hates you" At least I think she blathered something like that 2 days ago.

Played 3 runs of "happy times" scenerio. I ran it in SHIII Vanillia,

(1) first run,, looked to be a troop transport, was an AC, fired 2 torps at 1000 yds, two hits,, then the DD came on, over time in a running battle she shot me to pieces.

(2) Targeted a C-2 first run,, in the right most coll (col 5) fired at 1.300, two hits, and she broke in half.
run two, targeted a t-2 in col 4 , observed one hit, critical, the second missed primary target, and hit c-3 in col 2, smoking but alive. their dd escort set aflame a c-2 and a small merch in col 4 and 5 while trying to kill me. I finished off the small merch with guns and fled
3 kills, not a bad nights work.

(3) run one,, fired at the t-2,, both missed but struck a c-2 in col 2,, sunk. reloaded, went after the t-2, but had problems with a dd, fired both at the dd in spite while playing chicken. killed a dd with 150yds to impact, some damage due to flying dd chunks. Then I limped away with my crew and I cleaning out our trowsers.

I really enjoy this mod. Sometimes I just do not have the time for a full long patrol. this is quick,, fast and furious. and a heck of a challenge.

I look forward to sometime joining online play. see what a group of S-boats can do. how is that done?

Thank you Mikhayl for a dream game come true.

Just finished my second patrol . . . sank a large merchant!! Over 10,000 tons!! Yay!!!

If anyone wishes I can host MP games again today. I'd really like to get more than just one other person though.

I'll start hosting at 16:20 Eastern, give or take 10 or so minutes. Anyone that's interested please PM or message me. I've created a couple of S-boot MP missions that look pretty awesome!

Can't wait for the damage screen.

Not sure if I can do the MP today - but can you guys tell me exactly what you use? Stock or GWX2? I'd certainly love to be in on this on multiplayer - career may be fun, but the only right way to do Schnellboot attacks is in packs

I'd love to contribute some work to this mod BTW, but I'm really not in condition to take up projects right now (Neal will kill me since I have a review that I owe him and can't finish). But I hope the interest in this results in more people working on it. I think this mod will really benefit from some teamwork. And it would be awesome if the future of this was a total conversion - complete with multiple vessels, accurate flottillas, and an interface without a depth gauge or keys to dive the boat!

I run using GWX2. No other mods except except Mikhayl's s-boot 0.1 and generic cam mods.

And I agree. I can't wait to see six or eight of us attacking in a pack! --grins--

Ok, mark me as tentatively up for it tonight. Assuming things like my revised sound config and key commands don't interfere - I'll try to be in on it!

D'oh, I just realize something that can interfere. I re-did my Campaign_LND.mis file (the land bases) so that I could park anywhere in the med, and that could potentially cause problems.

Any of you willing to PM me a GWX 2.0 Campaigns_LND? It's in the data/Campaigns/Campaign folder
