I never knew that if you put a bunch of egg shells into a garbage disposal unit, it gets grumpy... and constipated.

The movie "Airplane!, while containing scenes similar to ones in the various Airport movies, is actually a more direct parody of the movie "Zero Hour!"

Notice the use of the exclamation point in both titles. Since the studio that made Airplane! held the rights to Zero Hour!, ZAZ was able to copy characters and a lot of the dialogue directly into their own movie.

The movie Zero Hour! was novelized in the US as "Runway Zero Eight".

The Hudson River in New York was named after the English explorer Henry Hudson, who was sent West by the Dutch East Indies Trading Co. to find a route to China. He landed quite a long way from China...

During portions of WWII, the British government forbid radios playing "Deep in the Heart of Texas".

Why?

The song was an huge (yuge?) hit in Britain, especially the clapping portion. The Brits really got into it. The clapping became so popular that there were worries that war factory workers could make mistakes or get injured if they clapped while hearing that song on the radio.

So for a period of just over a year, that song was not allowed to be played over the radio.
