Default Steam version of SH5

I have two versions of this game, the steam version and one I purchased on amazon,From what I understand the steam version is now compatible with TWOS.So I downloaded TWOS version 2.1 is this update able? it says on page......Full game reinstallation is highly recommended when replacing old with new megamod version (for example v2.1.x to v2.2

My Steam game's TWoS update from v2.1 to v2.2 seems to have worked correctly, but I have not had the time lately to start another SH career just yet, so I do not know if the Campaign functions as intended in Steam after an update is performed... I usually empty the Save folder and start a new career after any mod update.
