Default Information Cornucopia

This has likely been posted somewhere in the archives of SubSim, but I recently ran across a fascinating website of nautical information from the San Francisco Maritime Museum...

NAVY MANUALS AND DOCUMENTS ONLINE

Of particular interest were multiple submarine manuals and all manner of eclectic information, from submarine cooking to torpedo fire control to Howard Hughes' Glomar Explorer...

NOTE: Responsibility for the hours spent on the web site lies with the reader.

Good find! I've seen several of those over the years, but never in one place like this.

someone else published this link not long ago under a Submarine War Patrol Log issue/topic. yes, there is a plethora of recently declassified documentation that someone has taken the effort to digitize and publish on the web.

the site is maintained by the same people who maintain the USS Pampanito (ss383).

if any of you (us) are ever out in San Francisco, head over the "Wharf" or "Embarcadero" and visit the Pampanito. she is beautiful.
