Tomnikov, did you test your DirectX with dxdiag?
Try also Windows CHKDSK (Q307654) and SFC (Q310747) tools.
My suggestions are for WXP, but there should be equivalents for Win7.

The screen goes black and it throws me to the desktop, I have tried running it under WinXP,Sp1,SP2,SP3,Vista,Vista Sp1 and I got the same results ever with the MMP5 update. I hope this is not a deal killer for me and I have to return to crappy Vista which I know it runs just fine on. (A first time!)

It's not Windows 7 and it's not Vista. Well, it may be, but there is a fix for your problem. See here:

http://www.panzersim.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65

Basically, you need to download (easy to find on Google for free) msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll. Put them in your game directory (same location that tvt.exe is). I had to do this in Vista x64 and it's been golden since then.

Enjoy! Best tank sim ever. I'm going to play the six included missions until

don't know what to do

oh.. I tell you what I've done :

-copying the instructed dll's from those posts
-disabling the joystick script
-trying reinstall directx 9c
-reinstal the TvsT on XP and copy the dll above

and after those all, I still got crash "TvsT has stopped working, objects.dll error (also controls.dll)"

I dont use deep freeze or else, and my antivirus seems peaceful.

What else? help me, i cant start the game..

Default Old files?

Tomnikov, did you really clean up any remannt iof your ropevious Tvst install from your drive?it sounds to me like some of the old files may have remained.Checks the caches.

Alternately try installing your game in a new drive never used before i.e the D drive and see if you still have the same error message. If you don't then it means you did not remove some of the old files. If this doesn't work then you're in deep doodoo....

That's what I do.I have my main game on the C drive and a second install on my D drive and a 3rd one( a back up on my externla hard diskF drive)

Luck!

After uninstalling TvsT, you also need to delete Windows XP Registry keys: HKEY_Current_User/ Software/ G5 Software, and HKEY_Current_User/ Software/ Microsoft/ Windows/ Current Version/ Explorer/ MenuOrder/ Start Menu2/ Programs/ Lighthouse Interactive.
