radar Ending Patrols

Hi guys,
When I changed subs (USS Drum to USS Balao), my start point was moved from Pearl Harbor to Brisbane. Did patrol, and when went to end patrol, can not end. Went back to Brisbane, but will only let me Refit or Postpone. So tried Pearl Harbor, same thing, plus Fremantle and Midway. So how do you end a patrol when it you return to same port you left from and can not get End Patrol to highlight so can end patrol.

Every port has an anchor by its name on the chart. Your home port anchor is tilted. If your base has changed the new one will be tilted and the old one will be straight. You need to find the tilted anchor.

As the excellent Sailor Steve points out, the tilted anchor is key... But be aware that there are date issues in SH4 that can reach out and bite hard if you happen to hit them. We keep finding them in Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate. Things that you wouldn't think would have made it past QC before the first release came out, much less all the way through v1.5, but they did. Top that off with boat changes, sail changes, gun changes, etc. (upgrades they say), and you probably stand over a 50-50 chance of hitting at least one in your career. Things like February 29th, which exist in the real world once every four years, but in SH4, not at all. Not once. Then there's June 31st, September 31st, etc. I'm not certain that April and or November get in on the fun, but I haven't been through all of the files though either. All the ships, all the planes, all the torpedoes. But enough already about a paragraph ago...

You might have to wait a few days for a "new" base to come "online", although I do not recall ever having Brisbane disappear after 1943... If you can't get it to go after doing a Status Report, and seeing if you can get another assignment, and doing that to while away some time, then you might have to load a Save from either before the last patrol, or from before the "upgrade"...

I was playing stock 1.4 once, out of Brisbane, and the same thing happened to me, got down near Brisbane, and no tilted anchor. Also low on Fuel. Zoom out, found that Freemantle was home now. quick refit, then on to Freemantle.
Now, before I head for home, I check to see where home is. (also have a few Mods in now too)

Noted that when I left manilla on the second patrol, my home base changed to sorabiya (whatever) in Java but the anchor did not tilt. So I went anyway, eventually arriving and the anchor tilted before I got there, but a long time after I was instucted to proceed.

I have seen a map of all upright anchors quite a few times. A bug!

I think you'll find that there was a delay between the closing of Cavite and the opening of new bases in Australia. I don't think that is a bug at all but a reflection of reality.

RR, in the game it states, Manila is now under air attack, divert to 'Java' .... most of the time it immediately adjusts the anchor, but occasionally nothing.
