Los! Torpedo Missed Herr Keulien

Maybe I was a bit hasty in installing SH5 and then The Wolves of Iron mega mod. I played vanilla SH5 back in the day (which was a Tuesday despite what people say) and now I am depleting my entire torpedo stock on the first ship I see, and that boats skipper must think he’s being pranked as all those fish steam passed his ship, laughingly wide.

So I’m using auto TDC as enabled by the mod, I have ‘forced manual aiming’ disabled in the gameplay options, auto TDC seems to be working fine. I am also auto identifying via the officer interface. Could someone help me out here before command begins thinking I’m a passivist missing on purpose?

Auto TDC is so easy that you have to do special efforts to miss your target

It still requires you to have a decent firing angle towards your target, and to set the torpedo depth correctly, else the torpedo may not explode, also Auto TDC will not eliminate the problems with dud torpedos (which you can disable in the option menu IIRC).

It's hard to guess, from your description, what exactly are you doing wrong. Other than referring you to tutorials on youtube, perhaps if you could use either Bandicam or Fraps to record your aiming, then someone here would certainly be able to help.

Here a short description about how to use Auto-TDC in SH5 (WoS or else):

- You actually did the pre-requisites to disable Manual TDC, ok
- lock target with spacebar
- unlock target with spacebar, this will send all data to TDC
- move your mouse in the scope to fine-aim on your target (you can have the 'torpedo aim line' activated in your TAI to help you)
- fire torpedo(s)

It's easy like that, again: to miss your target you need to do some miracle errors, so I don't really know what's your problem
