Default AOP2 Lightning will strike your ship.

I was caught in a storm when a bolt of lighting hit my mast breaking it in two and catching the deck on fire. Surprised me that that happened as this game is NOT like POTC but more based on the original "Sea Dogs".

I did get this shot just before lighting hit the ship.

I probably tried twenty more times to catch the lighting hitting the ship ( did so three more times and really made a mess ). It's awfully hard to click a pic just when the bolt strikes.

This game starts on your hard drive with over 8 Gigs, there is a lot more on it and better than POTC ever was. Yeah I know you have some terrific Mods for POTC but I've the latest version 1.3.0 which just came out in the US June 6th 2009 and I'll bet this game runs a lot smoother than POTC with the latest Mods.
No I'm not knocking POTC Mod makers, for I think they did a super job but just play this game in it's vanilla stage ( only vanilla so far anyway ) and you will see the "Sea Dogs" in it.

Others say it's full of bugs and there more than likely are but they were referring to the first versions not 1.3.0.

As with POTC there are some beautiful ships in AOP2.

EDIT: I said above that this game was still vanilla only. I forgot but Captain von Keldunk has a mod for it. Sorry Capt.
