This is an old bug with nVidia cards. There are many threads on it, but with SubSim's Search function they can be hard to find.

Here is a very old one that might help:

Well .. I have GTX960 4GB with driver 416.34, Windows 10 pro.
I do not have the golfball sun.
There are specific settings for Nvidia cards to avoid the golfball sun.

Deactivate gamma correction for example!

I still have the small sun even with gamma deactivated and no AA on my new rig.
I don’t understand why because on my old rig it was fine...
I think i prefer nice AA against little sun. Anyway i can’t have normal sun it seems.

Also no more than 4x Multisampling AA via Inspector. And don´t forget to put Override any application settings.

There are some enviromental mods for SH3 with an addon for the ball sun problem. Example: Makman Enviros.

Happy 2019.
