make sure you set those values for the individual sh3.exe, just in case the game settings overrides the general settings or,
better is to install nvidia inspector, and set these values for Silent hunter III and apply .

Is the sun still small ?

... and for the view in front/back. Do you mean the 'split' you see on the sea surface when floating outside the U-boat? It will become more visible once the sea is rougher. So for example you will still have waves in SH3 even if the windspeed is 1 knots.

I do not know where you live in France but if you live for example near the Atlantic ocean you should see that there are always waves. The sea will not have a waveless, smooth surface.

lol Yes no wave in Alsace lol !

thanks for the V852 i ran some tests :

with V852 alone

with V852 + big sun

and with Antialiasing AA value max x4 and desactivate gamma corrections...

but it remains the same sun in all the tests.

here wind 2, in front view waves are nice but in back view not (we see horrible straight lines). there is a big demarcation between front and back view

and when wind is stronger than 2 it is worse...

for players who play without free camera (only with F4 at 100% difficulty) it is ok but for other who loves also F12 free camera to see beautiful pictures it is not good.

have you tried enforcing those settings to sh3.exe with nvidia inspector like in that screenshot?

if i set "default" for sh3.exe i also get this sun but otherwise, with those enforced settings, the sun looks normal again.

not yet, i will try this tomorrow.

The too big and visible demarcation front view back view is another problem for me, more important than the sun...

Can be that it will also be better with your nvidia settings

I can tune that a bit but to smooth it, it will have a performance hit. This is part of the way the game has been implemented.

Hi Eric,

Can you check the sun with the clouded scenery?

I send you v858.

Again: the waves in WAC at 2m/s for example are smaller than in SH3. So a compare with 2 m/s in both mods is biased.

I can make the waves smaller but I will never do that as that will ruin realism.

@Eric

1st I can't say for WAC 5, but I don't see why these Inspector settings aren't cross compatible I can however throw in my 10 cents worth using GWX; see my screens;
First with Prodys settings:

Notice the jaggies along the side of the turm !

Now my settings:

Voila no jaggies !!

I must emphasise both *.nip files give a sun halo, on my part I don't even use the flat sun fix.

My *.nip file can be found here:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/vqq79..._III_.nip/file

Hope this helps

Best regards.

well, that sucks .
if i use MEP v5 or v6 i also get a flat sun and have to use that optional mod to fix it but this mod doesnt provide a flat sun unless i increase the AA over 4x or enable that Gamma Correction .
I guess different nvidia cards behave in different ways . Fubar2Niner, if i use your nvidia inspector settings the game is unplayable, strange reflections, the water looks horrible, the land is all black and those jagged lines on the edge of the turm are still there so ... nvidia , hell yeah .
