Default Mission Editor won't load for NYGM, LSH 2015

Hi Guys

I want to look at the missions.


In GWX3.0 Gold, I can open mission editor version 1 & 2 with no issues, takes maybe 10 seconds to load. From the fresh 1.4b install i keep seperate it works fine too.


In NYGM and LSH, it doesn't load at all. I see it briefly run in task manager, then I see werfault.exe and then both close. All in all takes maybe 5 seconds.


I know missioneditor will run, as I tried seperating it from game folder and it runs fine, plus it runs fine from the GWX installation.

Version 2 of the editor has same issues from NYGM etc folders..


Anybody able to offer a solution to this?

I am presuming that it must run from the individual installations to get the correct files for each mod.

Hi Kedishen

I had a similar issue with my WAC5 install with ahnenerbes wide Screen mod I can open the mission editor but the ship icons are too big.
So the workaround for me was I disabled the wide screen mod wrote the mission then reactivated the wide screen mod to play mission on my curved wide screen monitor.

Notedly I do have the magui widescreen installed to GWX as well, but experimentation first. Assumptions after.

Sadly removing all option mods makes no difference. Still can't load the mission editor.

From your torpedo thread, I thought you had the Hsie and/or Stiebler patches on your NYGM install ?

That's not the Hsie patch. Those are a weather and ship collision file. His patch is here.

NYGM 3.6F already has the file modifications integrated into its game files for h.sie and steibler4c.

I have both patches installed and the S3S steibler files from the patch included

Maybe.
I have the same issue with NYGM, but not with LSH.
Missioneditor will crash right after loading all cfg- and eqp-files, but before load of Fonts.
On my system it is a fault of the ini-comment-crash. See here:

This patch kit from a.g. helps me to avoid this crash. I use it with an old DVD-Install, and not with Steam.
Also, this crash does not occur when the first Comments in the 2 HSL.cfg-files in Roster are eleminated, which supports a.g.'s statement.
Please, never ever overwrite your existing install, instead create a JSGME-Mod for this.
