Default [REL] FJB Navigation Maps

These are three mods to replace the navigation map in the game.

FJB Brown Navigation Map

FJB Color Navigation Map

FJB Two Tone Navigation Map

All three have both high and low resolution versions of the Map_Strategic.dds file so the maps in the submarines will match the Navigation map. You will note I've also removed the black outlines of the land, and reversed the ocean colors from the stock, as this is how most navigation maps are done. These maps can be used alone, or with the Navigation Map Make-Over mod.

Of course these maps are in no way shape or form meant to be historically accurate. This is strictly eye candy.

Be sure to read the included PDF for more pictures and info.

Install using JSGME.

Download from here on Subsim (under Missions and Maps)

Nice work

Quick question. Is it possible to add a compass to this map similar to what is in SH3 and also have the ability to use the Ctrl button and mouse left click
( in combination ) to center the sub on the compass? Again similar to SH3.

For the first question, probably. But doing something like that likely would require editing the menu_1024.ini, which is beyond my abilities.

For the second question, I don't know.

This is nice. Is it compatible with the big modpacks like RFB and TMO?

Yes, though it will overwrite some files in both.

How do these look close up?
Most maps get very pixel'y the closer you get to them. Looks totally unrealistic.

Yes, in the SH4 Missions and Maps section. Specifically, here:

If you do zoom in all the way they will look blocky, but even the default map does that.
