Icon9 Martin Landau R.I.P

Sad day for me being a big Space1999 fan.

I also enjoy mainly the first three seasons of Mission Impossible as well.

I bet Martin Landau way back in the 1990's at a LA Space1999 convention so to read the news today is a blow.

Also enjoyed him as the villain in Hitcock's classic North by Northwest.

Farewell Martin Landau.

Landau, 89, died on Saturday of unexpected complications during a short stay at a Los Angeles hospital for an undisclosed illness, his publicist Dick Guttman said.
The papers got it wrong: at age 89....there are no 'unexpected' complications....RIP!

R.I.P.!
My father was a huge fan of Mission Impossible! Space 1999 also saw,but so much, since he did not saw appeal in science fiction. But always like Martin Landau and his wife at the time in the shows.
I also remember him from North by Northwest, also a classic!

I had the chance to catch the Space series he did on re runs and liked it. I always thought Martin had a commanding presence and was convincing in his portrayals.

Rest in Peace Martin.

It seems a lot of the members here remember Martin Landau from Space: 1999, but his most impressive portrayal was of Bela Lugosi in the film Ed Wood, a role for which he won a very well-deserved Academy Award (Oscar):

A great actor and a true artist...

RIP, Martin Landau...
