Default My A and D Keys Don't Turn the Boats

Hello,

Two days ago I bought PT Boats KOTS and South Gambit on Steam. Alas, I am having trouble turning the boat with the A and D keys. While troubleshooting I bound the right/left turn commands to different keys but no matter which keys I use to turn the boat, they do not work. My keyboard is fine, and all the keys work. For example: A D. I've used A and D to launch PTBKOTS, and the game launches, so it does "see" those keys. It just doesn't see those or any keys to turn the boats. Meanwhile, all other key commands that I've tested work.

Maddeningly, however, while adjusting settings in the sim, ONE TIME the A and D keys DID work! I could maneuver the boats wonderfully and thought the frustration had ended. But the next time I fired it up I was back to unresponsive turn keys. So I suspect there is some sort of settings configuration that is wonky and interferes with this. You know, something like, "if you select 'disable pause' you won't be able to control steering." If so, I have not yet determined what it is.

I have searched this forum for solutions. I found a few guys with the same trouble with the A/D keys, but no solution. So I'm posting again to see if there is one. The sim looks good and seems as if it will be fun, but all I can do is sail a straight course.

Any help appreciated! Thanks.

Hello,

Just an update. No idea what I've done, but the A/D keys are now working. I created a multiplayer server and they worked in there, and when I tested them again in the campaign they also worked. I tested that again today and the A/D keys worked again. Next test is to see if they work in the campaign without going into multiplayer first.
