This was no revolt of the people against a regime, it was an inner party-political power struggle. One gangster lost and goes out with filled golden sacks, another gangster - from the same party! - will go in and start filling his golden sacks. Nothing will change.

Next.

The Archbishop of York has put on a dog collar for the first time in almost 10 years, ending his symbolic protest over Robert Mugabe's leadership of Zimbabwe.
In December 2007, Dr John Sentamu cut up his dog collar live on BBC One's Andrew Marr Show, promising not to wear one until Mr Mugabe left office.
He said Zimbabwe's leader had "taken people's identity" and "cut it to pieces", prompting him to do the same.
On Sunday, he returned to the Marr Show and reinstated his collar as promised.

Well done Your Grace

In 1983, Mnangagwa delivered speeches attacking the opposition, describing those who opposed the government as "cockroaches" whose villages should be burned. In a second speech, he said that (a self confessed political murderer??!): "Blessed are they who follow the path of the government laws, for their days on earth shall be increased. But woe unto those who will choose the path of collaboration with dissidents, for we will certainly shorten their stay on earth.
The conflict ended in 1987 with the surrender of ZAPU. Despite the Unity Accord which ended the conflict and merged Mugabe's ZANU and Nkomo's ZAPU parties to formZANU–PF, Mnangagwa is still disliked in Matabeleland because of his role in the conflict..

"Father Fidelis Mukonori says he can not confirm reports that Robert Mugabe was given $10m (£7.5m)"....to resign.
