Default GWX 3.0 Gold question

Hi all,

I've been away from the SH series for a number of years and I'm just now coming back as a result of having my laptop again for college.

Currently I'm playing SH3 with the GWX 3.0 Gold mod. This was the mod I had installed years ago. I checked the downloads section and I still see GWX 3.0 Gold. My question is, are there any updates to this mod that I don't know about? Any progress made in past years?

Is NYGM the only supermod kept up to date?

Thanks for your time everybody,

I believe you have the latest and final version of GWX. Living Silent Hunter 3 or LSH3 is still being updated and is a supermod too.

Answers (in order): No. Yes. No.

No updates to GWX3. Certainly no "official" ones. IIRC, the GWX team has officially disbanded.

There have been lots of mods released which are "compatible" (sic) with GWX3. But their compatibility with other mods you might want to use is always an open issue. Mostly, they seem to follow the Big Boy Rule (aka Caveat ludius.)

Both NYGM and LSH3 are active. LSH3 is currently awaiting release of v6. LSH3 has lots of eyecandy and snazz. NYGM has lots of grim authenticity. GWX falls somewhere between the two. Any and all (and I think there are some other older ones, too) are great fun and worth your time. My advice would be to grab MultiSH3 and try them all.

Thanks for the timely replies everyone,

One more question still relating to GWX.

Does GWX 3.0 Gold have wolfpacks incorporated into the game? If I send a conduct report to BdU, will a wolfpack spawn?

I hear NYGM has wolfpacks but do they function as described above?

No, GWX3 doesn't. And yes, NYGM may spawn a wolfpack. Probability, not guaranteed.
