Can`t start late war careers

I have been attempting to launch a new career with the 12th flotilla in early 1943; every attempt ends in a CTD. After a great deal of experimentation it appears that my particular installation of SH3 cannot successfully launch a career past 1941 without crashing. Oddly, once a career has begun there are no date related CTDs, and the career can be continued until it ends in either death or a posting ashore. Has anyone else out there had a similar problem? Can someone suggest a direction I should look for a solution?

I don`t have a big mod list- GWX 3.0 obviously, SH3Commander, USAM, and H,Sie`s V1.6 and one or two minor mods.

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Remove half your mods and try again. If it still crashes, the problem is not in any of the mods you removed. If it stops crashing, the problem is in one of the mods you removed.

Yes, that is probably the logical place to start. I`m inclined to think there must be some conflict in some of the scripted files. I don`t really want to play the game without any of those mods though, so it would be nice to track down the error.

Look into the manual of GWX. In some situations you need to enable a mod fix that came with GWX to solve late war sensors issues. Or it had to do with a specific type of Type 7c
