Default SH5 Help & Advice needed

As a Playstation player for 30yrs i have within the last year got into playing on the PC. I currently have ETS2 with a few basic mods installed which i play when i want to relax and wind down.

I have followed TaffinExiles Youtube series on SH5 from the beginning and really enjoy watching every episode. I talked myself out of getting the game before christmas due to the bugs & modding required to play this game but have finally decided i want to try the game for myself. I just have a couple of questions before i get started.

1- Whats better buy a physical copy or buy a uplay gamekey? was told no to a steam version.
2- As a complete noob what are the basic must have mods needed to be able to play the game?

All help very much appreciated.

Hi df
If you buy the dvd you actually own something tangible.
Selecting German/English voices, keyboard, easy re-install.

Due to all the bugs that were in game on first release it was way over priced, I bought just the uplay key and only paid £5 for it,. That was a while after release.

Default Advice

I managed to find a cheap copy online so ordered that & it arrived today, if i have problems with the disk i will just buy a key so i wont lose to much.

Now going to try installing the game, after reading some of the numerous tutorials on here i should be ok.

I read that my session length can affect the the stability on my game, so if i plotted a journey which the subs travel time takes 72hrs to complete in game time, if i want to travel that journey on normal speed without using TC whats the real time it would take?

I haven't read anywhere so far about the time difference.

It would take you 72 hours, man. Real time is real life time. I would not recommend playing like that, but if you have lots of free time, have at it.
Will only take you 5 years to complete the war.
